| I have been a season ticket holder now for a number of years and like all of us who read this board I care about the club.
The attendances in my opinion this season have not been acceptable for a club that are punching above our weight. The atmosphere for a while now has been terrible.
I am no accountant and I know the ticket prices for next season have been released but would it not be worth a punt in significantly reducing the prices for a certain period to see if we can sell more?
If we base this very simply on let’s say 2000 adult passes at £250 gives us £500k, or we reduce to £150 and maybe sell 4000, it gives an extra £100k up front but an extra 2000 people buying programmes, food and drink?
Surely this would help increase revenue, fill the stands and improve the atmosphere?
I know the Glover model didn’t work out too well but maybe there is a balance between the two which could work?
Whilst talking about food is there any scope for a jacket potato stand? Quite often I am hungry at a game but never fancy a burger or chips. I remember once we used to have this next to the score board.
Please discuss.

| Atmosphere, last 8 weeks nothing to play for has taken edge off the atmosphere which can be good in the north stand, last few matches it was like everyone chatting to each other and occasionally cheering what was happening on the pitch. That will be same for a few clubs in similar position.
Attendance, we should be getting more and we will but cheap tickets aren’t the answer keep competing get stadium situation and RFL sort the standard of refereeing out will help.
Fans I talk to who don’t go tell me they have fallen out of love with the game at the moment some are sick of stadium fiasco. We will be ok if we keep going as we are and get stadium sorted.

| I have thought and said things along the same lines in the past Jambon.
Also, I have had ideas on how the club could potentially increase crowds, which could in turn, increase revenue streams. These have been posted on here in the past, and also sent into the club. All of which have been rubbished on here and by the club.
These have been things such as a mini season ticket to cover about 5 games,
membership packages to include shirts, looking to see if there are any areas of the city that we dont sell many season tickets, and if there are, a marketing Drive in that area offering a reduction.
More recently, I have also mentioned a marketing drive on some of these newer housing developments, as some of the residents could be new to the area, and also a depreciative season ticket.
Other super league clubs have tried some of these little perks and have found them successful.
They may not improve the crowds by a 1000-1500, but even 400-500 more on the gate would be a start and make a difference. 500 adult season tickets would equate to around £130k.
I understand that MC believes in the product and that a season ticket equates to about £5 per week, which as a fan I think is fine, but if we want to increase crowds, which would also help towards squad strengthening, then I do think we need to reach out beyond our dedicated fans to those who arent and change their mindset.
Unfortunately, I dont think the £5 A week mindset wont wash with too many of those potential fans, and we need to think outside of the box, in ideas to bring these in.
Is it too much time and money for the club to invest in, Im not sure

| Reduce prices and you devalue your product, if the gamble doesn't pay off you then have to shaft your loyal customers with a massive price rise second season. MC knows full well he can't risk losing the core 3500

Exactly this and as the op has already pointed out, the giveaway tickets didn't work out under the Glover regime and there's no reason to think this route would be any better now.
RL needs to value itself a little higher than it currently does. With most events, the first question is about a discount, rather than looking forward to the event.
The most interesting part of last nights crowd was the attendance, which was announced at just over 4000, when it barely looked 2500 ?? - I wondered if we had a Toronto style beer tent round the back

| Depends on when matches are played as an indication of who and how may ST's get sold but if the corporate side makes more on a Friday than a Sunday then it's a no brainer.
What should be happening, as has been mentioned countless times, the Thursday and Friday televised games should be as local as possible.

| I’ve mentioned this before but.... I occasionally buy tickets online to go to Edgbaston to watch T20. Warwickshire Cricket Club now have my details and they regularly send me email updates with fixture info, ticket deals etc. The day after the T20 Finsals I got an email with ticket details for the 2019 Finsls day. Last season I bought tickets online for the away game from Huddersfield. The Giants still send me email offers for tickets and season membership! I’m no IT whiz but is it hard to keep a data base of people who’ve ever contacted the club and then send emails to encourage them to attend games?

| Reducing prices does not always increase sales, you may end up selling at a reduced price only to those who would have bought at full price anyway. A good way to do it is by adding value, as the club are doing with Platinum Memberships. I'm fortunate that I can afford a Platinum and I realise that not everyone can , but if those who buy 'standard' tickets can be encouraged to 'trade up' to Platinum that would help. The club have produced an excellent Platinum offering that is extremely well presented. Add value rather than reduce value.

| A win last night would have been perfect timing to help increase season ticket sales. Mines in my pocket already BTW.

| A good way to increase fans to come along is to win something & for that as Chester says We need some quality players in key positions but we don't want to spend the cap being 5th/6th does not create interest

| Free, cheap, mini deals, food outlets etc are all well and good but the bottom line is very few people are aware of Trinity in and around this city of ours. Unless you look on the back pages of the WE, that's assuming you even buy the WE, or have Sky sports then other than the memory banks of the old uns Trinity may as well not exist. Can anyone tell me how are they, the general population or even lapsed supporters, supposed to know when we play, who we play, who our "stars" are ? My wife works in the Ridings and she is astonished that there is no visible promotion of either rugby league or Wakefield Trinity. For instance, on match days or leading up to the games there isn't even a poster in the Trinity shop window, or so she informed me. And yes, many lapsed supporters have lost interest due to this factor and the ground situation where no news just gives the impression no one cares. I say impression because I know people involved with the club do care. But it's an impression nevertheless.
I know MC said there was no funds to market the club, but that was in the early days when he was trying to put the club on an even keel. But now I believe the club needs to be marketed as does the whole game, hence the Hearn input.
Talking of e mails. Anyone remember when the club used to post fans a match day poster in order for us to print out and display ? A good idea and didn't cost the club a penny.
Anyone who watches "Backchat" will have heard the veiled criticism from one of the panelists, of our match day experience compared to Castlefords. Embarrassing actually.

We could sign Billy Slater but if the wider public are unaware of the fact it wouldn't matter a hoot regarding increased attendance, not past 5000 anyway.

| Regarding awareness of the club.
“Welcome to Wakefield - the home of Wakefield Trinty RLFC”
Could sponsors be found to fund signs like this on the main roads in to the city, the bus station and Westgate/Kirkgate stations?

| That's a good idea Kev but we need the "Star" players to highten the clubs profile. But were just not willing to go that extra mile & I think were kind of boasting now ( If that's the right word) everytime were on television or Facebook about not having any funds to do it or should I say not wanting to spend the cap. That's not going to excite the wakefield public. Who wants to hear that. That's not going to bring anybody in

| Couple of points.
Firstly reduced prices and freebies don't work. We found that out with Glover and if that is not enough for you, remember that was also the start of the demise of Bradford. Still not convinced, then look at Huddersfield they have massive give away deals and their gates are worse than ours.
Secondly regarding City awareness, again I don't agree. Yet again I called into a local boozer after the game and it was reasonably full.
We had our Wakey colours on and just about everyone in the pub were interested how WE had gone on.
