Well deserved for both in my opinion.

I think Chester has done a really good job in easing Batchelor in to the first team.

As for Jowitt, how good is it to see those long balls out to Johnstone back? The understanding that he has with his centre and winger when chiming into the attack is class, okay he is not naturally blessed with pace or strength but he seems to have a very old head on a young pair of shoulders.

Good to see Max, Batch and Reece in the squad and Tom in the full squad. Great for the club!

All four are also juniors who have technically come through our junior set up (although Reece joined us from Hull JUST before the cut off age of 19) which bodes well for the club.

Seems pretty quick and certainly quick enough for FB or in the halves and strength will come with training,age, development.

Well done to both players and the club for managing their development.

As for Max he is now our No1 FB that's for sure. Its now up to Grix to wait and earn it back.


Also lets not forget we have another young FB waiting in the wings in Hooley.

Looks pretty quick to me and had plenty to finish the try off on Sunday. I always thought he was the best fullback at the club, Grix coming in has been good as he probably couldn't sustain a full season previously however he's got a few years behind him in development and it's definitely his shirt to lose in my opinion. I just hope Grix doesn't waltz back in as that will be a proper kick in the nuts for Jowitt.

Brilliant news. Max has taken 2017 on the chin, gone away and come back a better player. Would be unfortunate to not see the season out in the full back berth.

Agree with everything said on all four. With regard to Max, when we played leeds i thought the raves on Jack Walker was ott, & for motm, I thought Max was superior on the night especially that pass for Tupou taking out a two man tackle

I just hope Grix continues developing Max in decision making & positioning.

Nice to see additional players like Batchelor and Jowitt getting recognition and being selected for the two England squads after Reece Lyne and Tom Johnstone were included earlier in the year. Scratching my head about what Matty Ashurst has to do to get similar recognition though, think he’s played consistently well for us week in week out for ages...
