| With a spate of home games next month, it is time to reprimand the underperforming senior places by giving youth a chance to stake a claim for their place.
1. JOWITT 2yrs ago rookie of the year.
An 18yr old Jack Walker is trusted to play in a Grand Final.
2. BJB
3 LYNNE Needs to push his selection for England Knights.
4 ARUNDEL a wingers dream centre.
5 JOHNSTONE What is going on here. Not heard why he was not playing at Newcastle.
6. MILLER Needs to run at a defence more often to leave the defence wondering is he passing or running. Take a look at Danny Richardson at Saint Helens.
7 HAMPSHiRE A must now at half back. Needs to become a dominant kicker around the park and develop his playing relationship with Miller.
8 FAFITA A must but needs to remember he is part of a team that runs forward not sideways (that's for crabs).
9 WOOD Just so nippy at the moment
10 ENGLAND Only knows forward.
11 ASHURST Sheer class that only England selectors fail to see.
12 BATCHELOR Future captain here. We need to wise up and give him much more game time. Despite his youth he tells players what they should be doing. (Senior players please take note).
13 RANDELL Along with Wood his constant darting forwards for easy yards will provide the plat form for our backs to perform.
14 TUPOU Gone AWOL recently - Why? On form he is devastating but at present needs to earn his place back in the starting 13.
15 HIRST Continues to develop well, Good leader who deserves a permanent place in the 17.
16. HUBY Massive disappointment who needs a rocket up his a**e.
However he has the skills and the talents to pass on to the younger lads but have we a man big enough to tell him to step up.
17 PAULI Still work in progress but could make it for us if he puts in the hard graft.
Coach CHESTER As Wakey as we could wish. Shame on those calling for his head. Needs to remember that reputations count for nothing. If a player is not performing, sentiment must go out of the window. Needs to be sent on a motivational development course though.
Sad though it is I feel that the likes of both Kirmond and Finn have cone to the end of their Super League careers. However their impact on our playing roster should be recognised and coaching opportunities explored to keep them in the Trinity family.
Let's be bold now and look to the future. If we can build a winning mentality and not loose ground on our 7th position we are still capable of seeing off any top 6 side in a one off game.
We need to build stability and a mental toughness to progress further but we have an exciting team in which the blue touch paper has not been lit this year I wonder why not. Consequently we have performed like damp squib too often.
Time to ring the changes and give youth a chance.

| I don`t quite get the point on Fifita, yesterday he had more go forward than anyone else on the pitch and usually does. The odd time he goes on a little skip across the line, he finds so much space by drawing players in that it often opens up gaps for other players, we look dangerous every time he does it, It`s his style and I don`t have an issue with it.
I thought Miller took on the line the most out of every pivot on the pitch yesterday and looked quite dangerous with the ball, hopefully now with the dry ground he will keep this up as I think he our go to man for his feet.
I will mention it again on Jowitt, people keep calling for Jowitt to play but in pre season Chester said that Hooley was in line to take the shirt from Grix with very little mention of Jowitt.
One thing is for sure, Chester needs to find his team and stick with it because this is half the problem, players in our team don`t know who will be playing next to them from one week to the next. Consistency is key, when you look at all successful teams they have a great understanding of the man to his left and the man to his right. We don`t have that.

| I keep scratching my head with regard to our performances, I just don't get it. How can a back line that scored points for fun last season suddenly dry up, how can a pack that matched it with the best of them last season not stamp any authority on a game.
I probably agree about bringing players on who can hopefully make a change to our play, but do we have them in numbers and can we play 3 4 or five all at once.
For me we need to look at a few areas. Full back, centre, scrum half and second row/ loose.
we bulid a squadbased on players who could adapt to certain positions. wood for me could be tried out at scrum half.
Its time to make a few changes and start to trust in our youth if it can be done all in the next few games remains to be seen.

| It was clear as day for me yesterday that we missed Grix, purely down to experience. Hampshire's positional play wasn't great and it's understandable when there's no consistency to where you've been played.

The first part of that question is probably fairly easy to answer - we achieved that by a fairly simple strategy, which has now been found out and is quite easy to defend against.
The second part is more puzzling; we have potentially the biggest pack in SL, but several of them are making little to no impact - Huby looks largely ineffectual, and as much as I want Hirst to succeed, he doesn't seem to be progressing much; Fifita and England are good though - they always make an impact when they come on. I expect someone will post stats to make a liar of me - but I just go on what I see.
The other thing that was noticeable yesterday was the movement around the ball - you expect this from really well-drilled sides like Saints and Wigan, and Cas of last year - but even Shudds managed to have bodies in motion yesterday and people making themselves available as a threat; we look distinctly pedestrian in attack by comparison.

Huby ineffectual? Really? I think he has been our best forward so far this season along with DF.

I'll be honest, as I'm probably the biggest Wakefield fan on here it'll come as a shock to hear that I cheered when Murphy absolutely cleaned Huby out haha

| I could be wrong - I don't pore over stats - but from what I can see, his much lauded offload game hasn't really happened, and he is fairly easily put down.
It's not a hill I'm prepared to die on - I just don't see him have that much impact on a game.

| In answer to the OP. I pretty much agree there on everything.
I said in another post I think the time has come for some big decisions.
We are sliding towards the middle 8s at the moment, and sometimes you live and die by the sword.
Time to play the likes of Jowitt, Hampshire and Batchelor in their favoured positions, and possibly recall for players out on loan.
Doing this not only gives injured players chance to get fixed, it will give the younger players the confidence in knowing theyre getting a run in the side. On top of this, it will provide competition in the squad which is healthy. It may give some of the senior players something to think about, knowing theres someone else, younger, fitter and hungrier after their shirt if they lose form.
These kids are good enough.
What have we got to lose

| We have our place in super league to lose, which will ultimately lead to the demise of this great club as we know it.
I’d drop Finn as he’s playing on one leg at the moment but keep the rest of the senior guys and make them earn their coin.
I don’t think now is the time to be chopping and changing we need consistency and you won’t get that by continually moving players around.
Our first team players are more than capable of getting this great club out of this situation, they just need to be singing from the same hymn sheet and working as a team, not as individuals.

| Dont get me wrong Kettycat, there is a lot at stake, bit the older heads just arent doing it, and really havent been for a number of weeks, but were on a downward spiral at the moment, and there are younger, fitter and eager players sitting in the stands.
I dont think it should be wholesale changes, bit there is more than just Finny at the moment that is under achieving

| Can't recall who. but a Trinity player when asked at the beginning of the season what they would miss the most regarding Kear leaving, the answer was his "inspirational speeches". Maybe a slight clue to our under-performances?

The older heads have been playing well below what we expected of them your right . I would love nothing more than to drop the worst offenders and give youth a chance, lads that are proud to pull our famous shirt on. To me it’s just we don’t have many games left to experiment with and get us to safety of the top 8,and so I say give these so called first teamers a right blasting and get their sorry butts on the park and give us performances to be proud of .
Both Chester and the club are going through challenging times I just hope we can pull a few tricks out of the bag once more for all our sakes

| I'm not in the Chester out camp, but I do think he needs to get some consistency.
If I were a young lad in the Wakefield set up I would be looking at the likes of how Johnstone, Batchelor, Crowther and Jowitt have been treated and be thinking 'Is this how Wakefield progress youth'
If things go wrong it seems the youngsters are blamed and dropped.
I'm a coach from the terraces so I will bow to the more experienced but that certainly how it looks!
