Warrington up next this Friday.

Few weeks ago I would have been as confident as ever going to the Halliwell Jones and coming away with a win, but with the disruption this weekend just gone and Warrington coming off the back of a decent win at Catalan, my confidence has taken a slight knock! I think this will be a tight game, but i still think we will come away with the win from this one.

I think from a Warrington perspective this is a must win, if they are hoping to be in that top four come the end of the season, so they will be well up for it! (Boj, can you please confirm if this one is must win for us?)

With the Easter period on the horizon, I wonder what kind of squad we will see from Chester ? For me we should be going for the best team selection available for this fixture and the Castleford fixture and then looking at bringing in some fringe players for the Hull fixture on Monday (Giving Hampshire a go in the halves, Jowitt/Hooley at FB etc).

I know what u mean but I still feel confident in our team against wire, our team spirit is sky high and there's is v low
Also Catalan are in total free fall a bit like Leigh at the mo so I'm not sure how much the wire win over Catalan actually means

Not that I am a Coach but I also feel bringing fridge players in for the hull match and really putting our strongest team against wire and cas is the way to go

Anyone heading over? I hate the Geri Halliwell stadium for some reason... no atmosphere! Good point, be interesting to see what side Chezzy puts out.

Boj probably won't reply until later being in Aus and that...

After Warringtons confidence boosting win in France last time out, this has become a far tougher fixture.
2 weeks ago, I'd have been fairly confident of getting the 2 points but now, Warrington are favourites.
The bookies have us with a 6 point start.
Having said that, if we can defend as we did for the first 4 rounds, we have every chance
Wire slight favourites but, I'm going for a narrow Trinity win

18 - 16 Trinity MoM Johnstone.

Lets unleash Tom and score some points.

Come on Trin !

I fancy us to sneak a win off scratch but not so much that I'll dump enough money on the 7/4 being offered to make it worthwhile.

I like the look of a cheeky £5 on Wire HT / Wakey FT which is available at 10/1, I think it will be nip and tuck all the way through but our big pack will get on top in the last quarter.

not a must win for top 8 - but would be nice to get some more breathing space
top 4 I am going to worry about if we win some of these games this one included that we need to be winning,
the comp is so close and I think a top 8 finish is going to be a massive dog fight - we are at the moment 4 points ahead of the dreaded 9th - we lose Friday we will be back in the dog fight,

I to would play best team available for both this game and Thursdays at home !

Even though Wire played well enough against Catalans, it's got to be said that was one of the worst performances I've seen from Catalans at home. they didn't seem to have a clue, unorganised and defensively really poor. So the win will obviously have done something for Wire as far as points on the board and a bit of confidence but I'm not sure how much it tells us where they are atm.

Still, it's at their place and they've got some gun players but so have we and it would definitely be good to leave there with the 2 points, which if we play too our potential I think we can. We've got some big games ahead of us with Hull, Cas, Leeds & Saints after and I think out of those the key is trying to win as many as we can at home and take what we can away. After this run of games it'll show us where we are tbh.

I think we'll get beat here. I fancy Warrington to get better and better as the season goes on and challenge for the top 4. Looking at their squad there are no real glaring weaknesses except maybe at halfback. It will be a tough and I'm going Warrington because of home advantage. That said, I'm making the journey over for this one and having a night on the sauce in Liverpool.

Yeah, Wire are playing ok, they've had some close losses with Leeds, Sts, Hull, and they beat jetlagged wigan, so they are there or there abouts some kind of form.
The team sheet is full of respected players, can't take anything for granted, if they get a few ducks in a row they'll be tough to get the better of.
Its a winnable game but I think its has to be a close grind out defense job for a wakey win away from home.
We went there last season when they were nowhere and lost by 2, they're better this season and we're playing a different game so anything could happen tbh.

I know the saying is bookies don’t often get it wrong, but giving you guys 8 on the handicap is a bit strong imo, I’m sure it’s a lot closer than that, I’d have had this at scratch at least.
