| The fact that Yorkcourt have applied for full planning for the remaining units on the site is slightly encouraging but as with all things Stadium related. I'll believe it more when they're building said warehousing up there and a new 'Multi-Party Section 106 agreement' is sorted.

| Can't help but think this is just another move in the game. Mackie doesn't want to lose the planning so has to push for reserved matters which gives him another 3 years(?) to stall. A precedent has already been set by Box and Co. What's the chances the new applications will also be outside of the original application.
There is definitely some cynicism dripping from the Trust press release I think.

| That's an interesting line from the Trust Statement.
Quote: "The 88m group are also unable to redevelop the whole of the Belle Vue site until such time that a new Community stadium facility is built in accordance with the terms of the public planning inquiry conclusions.'"
I know they can charge us silly rent to force us out but that sounds like there is something in place that says we have to have a new home before we move. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Yes, there definitely is. It's one of, yes it's interesting they've signed on to supposedly develop the area again for a few years and there seems to be some movement in getting parties interested in moving there, but can we know stop the bull and get on with it because you promised to do it & ateotd it's good business for all parties involved.

| I think this is excellent news. To me, it seems like both WMDC and Yorkcourt are feeling some pressure. Well done to the trust and the club for turning the screw and asking the right questions.
They have made it clear that it is the council's statutory duty to enforce the community benefit from the planning gain. The ball is quite clearly in WMDC's court (no pun intended). How much pressure are they feeling? Will they insist on an s106 that's fit for purpose? Will they enable the development by facilitating the funding to start the build immediately? Will they do anything?
The deal for BV? no doubt we'll find out on Monday. Will Manni be in attendance?
As for Yorkcourt, you can't blame them for sitting on it for 5 years in the hope that they could make an extra £10m profit, clearly they're in it for as much as they can make, but as we haven't disappeared and removed the need for a stadium, they've had to make a move or risk losing the planning permission. It's clear they won't spend money unless they're forced to and the council has the power (and obligation) to do that.
Interesting times ahead. Hopefully, a public meeting in the new year will keep the pressure on and expose the council if they're not doing their job.
Thanks again to Jeremy Cross for supporting the campaign.

They don’t need to do anything because we voluntarily gave notice to leave.

Your right they did but still, it seems strange for the Trust to bring it up and say it in such fashion? also, The Trust says and I quote
Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "The Trust considers in the light of the new Yorkcourt planning application and the development proposals for Belle Vue by 88M Group, that Wakefield Trinity will continue to play at Belle Vue under the terms of their existing lease until the new Community Stadium is built at Newmarket'" So they might have information we don't & it seems plenty has happened since the notice was given in March time. With WMDC's perfect solution for all parties meeting as well as telling Yorkcourt to crack on give the land up. Then came the redevelopment proposal of Belle Vue. Then WMDC said it was building a Community Stadium without us, which was bizarre, to say the least. As who was going to anchor it and Newmaket is still on the cards.
Also, MC has been on here and said words to the effect, how can he sort anything out with 88m about the redevelopment or if we play at Belle Vue for next year, when the bloke wouldn't even take his calls a few week back. This is after 88m wanted the Cub to tell them where they stood.
Like I said though It all depends on the amount of rent 88m is wanting and whether it's even worth staying at present, even if a Stadium looked more than ever like it was going to happen, not that I'm saying it is. The amount of 400k was mentioned a few times last season that we'd paid. Even if it was less than that, to put it into context Wigan pay about 400k and Hull 350k a year for their Premier league stadiums.
Anyway, all that to one side HOPEFULLY Yorkcourt have finally been actively trying to attract businesses to Newmarket, seen as it's the best piece of retail estate around to my knowledge for warehousing and they just get on with it, with the obvious help of WMDC and provide what was promised for the Community 6/7 years ago and I'm talking about the whole sports facilities, not just a Stadium. Wouldn't you agree?

| The inability or lack of will from the WMDC to act upon this development would make our court case stronger.

| I'm not buying this yet. I think I'd feel a lot happier if Yorkcourt were making a public announcement confirming their intention but as usual they are silent.
If they have good intentions why not say publicly what they are; I think they owe the public of Wakefield that at least, instead of hiding behind other people.

This news puts more pressure on the council/York Court to build community stadium and community facilities and if they don't strengthens our hand if legal proceedings were to happen that's how I see it.

Did they! I wouldn't be sure about that if I were you.
What's said and what's done are two completely different things. If what the arm chair experts on here with only half the facts never seem to get and you are the worst.
I do hope that's not frightening you off the forum. Love Vasty x
