We need to release a statement and soon, the more the council communicate the better they look and worse we look. This statement makes it sound like we are totally in the wrong and while I'm inclined to not believe them...why would someone who doesn't support us think anything other than we're being awkward?

Didn't see that one coming but it's still meaningless drivel. So you build a stadium on the site of an existing stadium but without a club to play in it, not even the one whose played in it for the last 100 year - utterly ludicrous.

Is it 1st April ??
How could anyone justify building a RL ground without having someone to play there and who will pay the rent ?

So I've hear M.C. likes a game of poker, well it appears Hussain has raised the stakes with -

“My greatest concern is for the fans, as the club have put no agreement in place and fans are paying out their hard earned money for games that we cannot facilitate at Belle Vue – unless the club make these necessary arrangements.”

Interesting times.

Their not though that's the problem. What they are doing is creating layers after layer of issues that cannot be quickly resolved.

It's an old tactic, it's attritional warfare. They want us to get bogged down in negotiation that will never be resolved in the hope we either go bust or go away.

We need to cut to the chase now and take direct legal action against the source WMDC and York Court. Forget about BV and concentrate in the incompetent, illegal and corrupt non delivery of NM and associated facilities. THIS IS WHERE THE LEGAL MEAT IS - THIS IS WHERE THE OBLIGATION TO THE TAX PAYER WAS AND STILL IS.

We can't force them to re-vamp BV and they know it - we may be able to force them to build NM and they are scared stiff of that.

If they can build a stadium 'just like that' then why did they not do it years ago instead of giving us the "nothing to do with us guv" line ?

Different owners, they'd have had to shell out to buy it. Now if only the club/trust had bought it when it was there for the taking instead of 88M instead of receiving bad advice......

It’s obvious, WT talk legal action, box and co say we can build you a stadium unfortunately that could bankrupt the club so you will never agree to playing there... but hey that’s not our fault is it??

What a load of tosh. None of this stacks up at all. Do they honestly think Yorkcourt are going to pay one penny towards it with their track record. The only way Yorkcourt can be tempted to get involved if they get more planning at Newmarket, then Bingo!! we can go at them once they make that move.
Are 88G going to pay, are they hell.
The council have said they are skint. If they have now found the money to pay for a stadium, why build it on someone elses land ?
They have loads of land of their own which is far better suited and located than trying to make something out of the Belle Vue dump.

The only post for me who really could have something is the one that mentions this may not be what you think. A new stadium could be nothing more than a white fence around a pitch with a couple of bus shelters on the touch line.

One other thing to contemplate. Seems like 88G want MC to sign up to another lease, what happens if he does, how much compensation will they have to pay to turf us off Belle Vue to build a new stadium.

What's happened to the council leader, last weeks statement was by Andy Wallhead , now this weeks is by Denise Jeffery. I don't trust them .
