Just seen the terrible news about Steve, wishing him all the best for a speedy recovery. Such a lovely bloke which makes what has happened to him all the more shocking. Certainly not a time for speculation but I hope the attacker is found and has the book thrown at them.

I've no idea of the circumstances of the incident but it's hard to get your head around the mentality of these low life's. The guy should have the freedom of the town & free ale in every pub for what he's achieved in such a short time. I was at the Good Friday game where the floodlights failed & Cas were truly awful, a great night for Trinity fans. It seems a long time ago!

Local rivalry aside, we are a small and close knit sporting community of Rugby League lovers who recognise and support our own when something untoward happens.

Steve Gill comes across as a decent man and doesn't deserve to be set upon by a thug, I hope his injuries aren't serious and he recovers quickly.

Gill is a decent guy and deserves better than this.
I kind of hope the guy is found by Cas fans first but either way I hope he is back up and at them soon and that the idiots involved are prosecuted to the full.

It was an ex board member who was banned as he was giving away information to people which he shouldnt have. Steve Gill and co banned him from entering the ground again so this was him trying to get his own back at Steve.

The Police went to arrest him yesterday. Thats as much as I know at moment.

With Steves past issues I hope this doesnt affect him as he seems to have turned himself around.

Spoke to Steves wife yesterday And she said he was ok although hurting quite a lot.
