| Can anyone explain why the official website failed to make any mention of Johnston winning man of steel young player of the year and now has failed to mention Jowitt winning Albert Goldthorpe young player of the year . Could it be because our players win so many awards it hardly deserves a mention ? At first i thought it was because everyone at the club was on holiday but the website is making plenty of noise about a halloween party and what that pathetic capitalist american import has to do with our great game i cannot understand but maybe i am just a cudmudgeon .

| Although they didn't make a big deal about, even though they should have imo and can't think why not. They do mention it below about Johnstone winning Young Player of the Year, but the article is mostly about him becoming an ambassador for our community department
rlhttps://www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk/news/2016/10/johnstone-becomes-community-ambassadorrl
Hopefully they'll update the website about Max, as he's only just won it and do a piece about them both this year. We should really be raving about these 2 players, especially on our own website.
Not being pedantic but Max got the Medal for Rookie of the year.
The Trinity Halloween Disco got advertised a couple of weeks ago and is just a reminder tbf and yes your a curmudgeon . Like it or not the kids love it and it's been around years and gets the kids in and around Trinity as well as makes the club a bit of money

Agreed there should have been more recognition of the achievements of these youngsters on the official club website. We seem happy to complete short match reports of heavy defeats so we should shout out about the good things to. Johnstone and Jowitt have been immense this last season and as home grown products of the club we should boast highly about them.
With regard a comment from the original poster, Halloween is not a tradition which began in the US, it has many origins some of which are attributed to Ireland. ( flightsandfrustration.com/what-c ... halloween/). I admit though that it doesn't feel like a very British tradition, compared to 5th November. Just a sign of our commercial times.

| I think they're in the process of updating all the social media to reflect the rebrand back to Trinity.
This may include a brand new website so could possibly explain the lack of news recently.

I'm sure that's right. The online shop is virtually empty.
The Twitter account appears to have changed to @WTrinityRL too, although it must have some kind of redirect on, or else I've followed it without realising.

| From a businiess perspective it's very amateur. Not only do the lads deserve recognition but it's a massive selling point for next years season tickets. They should be shouting it from the rooftops and plastering it all across the city that two of the best young talents in super league will be on display at Belle Vue next season.

| Yes, I do agree that they should be using the likes of Jowitt and Johnstone for advertising campaigns, especially for season ticket and lottery sales

| Agreed 4foxsake.
Regardless of new merchandise arrivals, the club shop in The Ridings is absolutely appalling. There is virtually nothing in it. Apart from the selling of season tickets the club must have made little or no money over the last month or so.
I suppose shopping is often about temptation and persuasion.... summat like :
'Can I have a season ticket please?'
'Yes, of course you can. And is there anything else we can interest you in ?'
'Er, no.'
'And why is that sir, are you sure?'
'Well, there's nowt ere!'
I know Leeds have so much more than us but when I went to xmas game last year the club shop had security on the door cos it was so busy and there was a huge range of merchandise. The Castleford club shop is also a very busy outlet as well.
Quite indicative as well that they have shops at their ground. I tell thee, it's surely not rocket science . At the moment , correct me if I'm wrong, the club has no CEO or general manager and no commercial/ sponsors/ promotions positions. Championship clubs have some if not all of these job roles.
And of course the club website at the moment offers little. Other club sites are vibrant, full of up to date info, and try hard to engage. Ours doesn't !!!

| Yes, I pretty much agree regarding this Fergus.
I actually sent an email to the club a while ago, regarding ideas where revenue could be increased.
To this day, I haven't even received an acknowledgement, or even anything back saying the ideas are good or bad

| But who in their right mind is going to shell out on merchandise that'll be out of date in a month?
I know I wouldn't. Get real lads.
Is it a prerequisite on here to whinge incessantly if you're a Trinity supporter?

I was about to say wouldn't people complain if after the rebrand we still had the Wildcat merchandise on stock!

| This isn't whingeing. I'd call it just business sense.
I would bet that other clubs have a much more seamless transition with merchandise and kit at the end of every season that means there are no periods of the preseason left stagnant in terms of sales - sell off all old stock nice and cheap while selling lots of new gear to all those coming in for season tickets. All of this means people walking around the city and drinking in their local pubs etc showing off their new tops and subliminally luring others into the shop/club to see what they can have !!!!!
Apart from that, at the moment those poor shop assisstants must do very little during the day - a human resource poorly utilised.
I wonder if there is a business plan.
By the way, I love the new badge and hope the shirt is a goodun.
