After dithering slightly, I assume that is him confirming his retirement.

I thought so too, but no! Looks like he's over here looking for another season!

On his twitter it appears hes actually hunting for a club....thought you guys would've snapped him up for 1 more year.

I'm glad we haven't. He's a great bloke, had a stellar career but we're past sentiment on this one. The money could be put to far better use and unfortunately, as painful as this season has been, he's not shown any reason to keep him any longer. He's been as culpable as any at times.

You can guarantee there'll be a brigade of those questioning why we're not keeping him as always with any player we don't retain, but age has done for him.

Cracking player but I think time has caught up with him.

With all these legends getting a run out for Leeds will they be after Kirke for the night as well?

Unfortunately for Ali the coming season isn't one for sentiment, let's try and avoid next years Million pound game.

Confirmed in todays League Express that he has finished with us, and is searching for a new club...thanks for the memories Ali....definitely been one of our better signings in recent years.

He could still be great at a club trying to make the 8 from Championship.
He'd be a good leader and developer of the young kids, just can't quite do the same minutes he used to do.

I kinda hope he doesn't get a Super League gig just because I like him being "ours" (Clearly Leeds will think the same).

That has to be the right decision - smashing fella and an outstanding player, but the years have taken their toll.

Not sure why you would think that. We are aiming to improve significantly next season as I’d have thought the signing of BS proves. I doubt very much he has stayed with the intention of slugging it out again in the middle 8 in which case Ali is not the player we need.

Ali has been a great servant to both ourselves and Leeds but this season time caught up with him. It’s not just the injuries it’s that he’s slowed up everywhere except in his mind. Sadly the legs in particular can’t keep up and from being one of the most graceful players in the game he actually looks clumsy and sometimes lazy because he just can’t bend that back. This won’t change, we’ve all watched the game long enough to know that.

Even in the Championship he’ll get caught out and if anything more battered. Ali don’t do it keep the legend in tact, please.

He's signed a second tier contact with the NZ Warriors back in the NRL.

fair play to him if he thinks he can do another year. i presume this year is to demonstrate first hand to the players already there that he can do it, before moving into a coaching role
