| It is really heart wrenching to admit, and say, but I see no point in continuing to be a WTW fan. The "club", over the last few years, have
managed to destroy my interest/support to the point of extinction.

| Yes its sad but it makes me angry that I'm part of a club that stumbles from one problem to another and seems totally happy with doing so. You have to have that fire in you to want to be part of any sporting club. You have to care, make sacrifices and be passionate. I don't see the combination of that in anybody involved at the club except the supporters and sadly they can do very little other than watch and hope and get sad and angry.

| Your choice I guess. Not sure you need to announce your retirement as a Wakefield fan.

| It's just some one showing their feelings towards their team and club. Its normal to do so and understandable given the situation.

I'm sure he announced it out of pure frustration and I felt the same as I left the ground earlier than I ever have done before!
I will be back but I'm afraid there are more hidings to come until we get players back AND the defence is sorted - it's none existent!

| I'm not sure this poster was to start with, but one thing is for sure it's doing the him/her no good. I don't think I've seen a post that wasn't a moan.
It's sport, someone has to be the loser, after years of defying the odds it looks like the time has come for the club to drop to a level their finances can sustain.

This. It's a club that doesn't have the financial clout to sustain a team that can consistently compete.

| I left early too (First time I coulden't watch anymore), its painful to watch 13 players bar a few on a field who looks like they can't be d while getting hammered on the field.

| I honestly thought at the start of the season we would be in the same boat as hkr hull. Wid and Salford . At present we don't look able to compete. Any club would have loved to have played Cats at home over the Easter weekend and we blew it big style. The squad and the quality of the squad just ain't good enough, or the selection of players doesn't match up. I'm not sure any coach would relish the job at wakefield at the moment and with no money available it would appear things are not going to change . So the end result will remain the same, we are left with a squad that if the last few games are anything to go by can not compete . The end result will probably be the championship, much Lower gates and a right grind to get back in to S L. So the club have some tough choices to make. In the very short time. The supporters also have some chooses to make, do you continue to spend your £22 watching dross or call it a draw for the time being . I tend to think the only people turning up will be season ticket holders. The match against Halifax will be very interesting.

| Michael Carter said right at the beginning of his tenure that we'd get the club that the level of support dictates!
We simply do not have enough people in the City of Wakefield who are prepared to spend their money and take the time to watch Wakefield Trinity or any other professional sport for that matter!
No pro football not even decent semi pro and those we do have get 250 on a good day
Wakefield RU are history now because they got no support and Trinity will go the same way eventually.

Other than Leeds that's the same for any club in West Yorks ...... maybe you can join the W. Yorkshire Championship along with the rest of us.

How is it the same for the rest of you?
Did your Chairman make the same statement?
Do all the other clubs have no pro football in their city/Town?
Have all the other clubs had a top flight RU club go bust because of lack of support?
I get that all clubs find a level but Wakefield is in the top 15 largest Cities in the country yet the residents can't get behind ANY form of pro sports club who represents the City.
I've always been proud to say I am from Wakefield yet there seems to be very few others with any kind of civic pride for the City, I'm in the very small minority!
Lately, I've had cause to question just why I'm so loyal and proud and if I'm honest with myself I'm struggling more and more to understand and justify it to myself!

| Bulls chairman made similar noises in similar circumstances but I was more alluding to the fact that there is little support in West Yorkshire for professional sport. No top flight soccer or Union....although Carnegie fans may argue otherwise. I don't think it's just about competition between sports, or even clubs, but more about disposable incomes. Watching sport is expensive....I hate to think how much I've spent over the years and couldn't calculate the cost/ benefit. It's more expensive for many at Bulls than last year. It's probably too late for me to break the habit but not sure what could replace it. More tellingly, my kids have no interest but I'm working on the grandkids.......... I don't really see things changing. Look at how Bulls support rose and faded over the years.....crowds started the decline whilst they were still successful.

| It's the same old vicious circle - the club needs fans through the gate but spectators won't come to watch dross! Unfortunately, give or take a few false dawns, we've had dross ever since we got in to SL (or at least, inconsistency). Perhaps a spell, hopefully successful, in the Championship would give us a chance to rebuild and come back stronger. Still prefer to stay in SL though!!!
