| Watched him last night and 5 mins after coming onto pitch he was walking behind the play without running the ball in once. He was fairly non existent and only 2nd or 3rd man into tackles most of the time. I didn't even see him trying to use his experience on the team leading from the front or giving direction...
Sorry but I think the guy is not fit enough and is stealing a living. We have better options at second row and centre surely.

Different people see different things.
I actually thought he put himself about very well in the last 15 mins, when it needed someone to set an example.
Where as on the other hand, I thought Owen did nothing apart from take a few high bombs and came in field to take ball up with only a couple of mins to go.

And twice cleared the ball from our in goal with a London player almost in reaching distance of the ball, and got back to tackle a London player who looked set to go 80metres to score

Owens chase back probably saved the game.
As for Gilmour he was ok defensively when needed but a grand total of 3 hit ups all game tells you all you need to know.

| Thought Gilmore did well tbh, he was the only wakey player capable in defence of twisting the player in the tackle to put him on his back.
Despite my previous misgivings Owen also played well.
Scruton?.. Ban him for the rest of the season please RFL.

| When he signed I assumed it was to play in the centre, where we are desperately short staffed.
We have a lot better options for second row cover than gilmour.
A terrible signing if this is our plan for him.

| Thought he did ok, steadied the ship a bit when he came on. Feel the OP may be seeing what he wanted to see.

| I though Gilmour did ok, thought he tackled very well and unlike others managed to keep hold of the ball.
I thought Owen had a good game, held onto everything in those conditions, ran the ball in well and that chase back tackle saved us.

| The usual scapegoats don't apply; Mathers had a good game, Gilmour did what he had to, Washbrook was efficient and Owen made some important contributions, as pointed out by Avenger.
I haven't like the look of Owen so far - he doesn't help himself perhaps with his sometimes casual demeanour on the field; but he put himself about on Friday and when it became clear he wasn't going to get passes, he came looking for work.

Oh no! Where do we go from here?!
We may need to sign someone on loan so that we have someone to pick on.

| In all seriousness. I still think it is a leader we need.
Smith goes someway to helping but he is more of a navigator than Captain of the ship.
He'll direct us but we need someone to drag the forwards in to battle when we need it. That will help people like Gilmour too.
