| Hi. We've set up a new account for the Wakefield Trinity Supporters Trust.
We are looking at getting the fans forum nights going again and wondered whether there was an appetite for an evening dedicated to the new League structures and RFL proposals.
If there is support for this we will try and get it organised ASAP.
Over to you.....

Thought there would be a few who would wish to hear more of how this is going to work and be able to ask questions of it?

There are two separate issues here... The management of the club to be successful in the environment of the league... Perhaps the most important thing for the current owners of the club to manage.
Then there is the issue of the clubs role in te greater aspects of the management of the game... Something that in my opinion should be managed outside the influence of the clubs...
As a club owner I would want no say in the strategy of the leagues... As a league strategist I would want no say in the day to say management of clubs... The current management structure is a complete buggers muddle!
it is difficult to see where the beginnings of a solution would come from.
I said I did not support the way MC voted on the structure of the league... In truth I don't think this is a club issue so the clubs should not have a vote... In the end each will vote with short term self interest.
I do however strongly support MC in the work he is doing at Wakefield.
This forum deserves support, look to find a unifying theme.

I couldn't agree more; what's the point of a forum to discuss a proposal that has been rammed through and is going to happen anyway, regardless of what fans think?
The concept is good - the subject is of questionable value.

I cannot believe that some of you are so quick to slag off the new structure and yet fail to see the point in us trying to work out how this works for the club or the game as a whole.
We have a new stadium in the offing and we are entering a vital season - I for one am keen to find out what's in it got us and what we can do to make the most of our situation.

The slagging off of the structure (and i suppose the option b) and working out how we fit in (if at all) are two different matters.
You need to differentiate between the two before making such a sweeping comment.
It seems to me that option a may be better than option b but neither of them are aimed at improving our lot hence peoples reluctance to see it as anything other than - not fluffy.

Fair enough, but this club has never shirked a challenge and we need to find a way to ruse to this one. Point one is to understand how this all works and what we need to achieve, step 2 is what we need to do to get there!

| As I see it, the Club has to fit in to whatever structure they (the clubs) have voted for. Whether the fans like, agree or care about it, is, in the most part completely irrelevant. We (the fans) pay gate money to watch a product on the field, if that is in a league of 14, 10, 12, 3 x 8, 2x 9, 17 x 36, i would guess that 90% really don't care what the structure is or how it will "benefit" the club, because when it comes down to it "benefitting" the club usual equates to more money for the owners and not a lot else.

The chairmen have made their decisions, we have the choice of a muffin made of EDIT
There is nothing to question, as is ever the case with SL or the RFL.
The process from start to finish never considered our little club and its supporters.
It was the chairmen wanting more and the rfl maintaining power, what we have is a no-mans land of crack pottery where the average supporter is not considered and one way or another the greedy chairmen will get what they want and the rfl get to stay in charge.
We will as ever kick against the system, it is our way - but i dont honestly think there is much to discuss.
We turn up until we are told not to.

I genuinely think your comments are disingenuous to those involved - especially to those from Leeds and St Helens who have taken a vote based on the good of the game and not the greed for their own clubs. I also think that they would, in the short term at least, be better off under the alternative proposals than they are with this, but they have seen fit to look at the bigger picture for the game as a whole and I applaud them for it.
Just because its new, or not what was expected, does not make it wrong. It has flaws, but it 'could' work - given a chance!

Perhaps but that doesnt detract from the point that there is little to discuss though.
The decision has been made, we will be likely to be tipped as one of the favourites to suffer as is ever the case.
We just have to get on with it as best we can
