| 1) We still have a club
2) We will have a club in Super League next year
3) We have a new Chief Executive who has been there before and knows what it is all about
4) We have signed our coach for a further 3 years (and despite what some may think, the general consensus of people more qualified than me or you is that he is a very good coach) and the vast majority of players who work with him like him and respect him
5) We are now starting to attract more local juniors - some even turning down "bigger" clubs to come to us
5) We have a chairman who is going to run the business in a sustainable manner and will not spend what we don't have
6) Newmarket is getting closer day by day - in just over a week we expect planning to be granted for a huge unit at Newmarket that will pave the way for the stadium build
I know we're not where the majority of fans would want us to be, but what's done is done. If we can take these positives and spread the word we can rebuild (again) for a more sustainable future.
Now is the time to back the new board and the club and get your season tickets and give them a chance to slowly and steadily build us back up.

| Agree 100%.
Now more than ever do we need to look forward.
If last night showed anything its that there is a lot of people who care about Wakefield Trinity. We will end up with the club we deserve. The more positive support the more sustainable the future.

| Agar getting a 3 year deal in my opinion is not a reason to be positive, in fact its quite the opposite.

But that's your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. Mine is the opposite, I think Richard Agar will turn this club around but only time will tell whose right.

| After all the s**t that you all as Wakefield Trinity fans have been through with one thing or another I hope that finally you don't have to go through any of it again as you would all would be forgiven for thinking that someone/something somewhere has had it out for you over the last few years and wanted you not to exist anymore.

| 2 reasons to be positive.
We still have a club to support in SL next season
If we turn the clock back a few years when we looked like losing our spot in SL,
we would have jumped at the chance to play in SL, so lets get in there next season and cause a few upsets.
Newmarket is getting closer by the week and hopefully before too long, we can watch the Mighty Trin playing
in a modern stadium with excellent facilities.
We just need the "supporters" to support the club !

I don't want to make excuses for RA but if you were at the presentation yesterday evening, you will know that he had offers from elsewhere but chose to stay at Wakefield and battle with a shoestring budget to keep us in Superleague.
Now, it's fair to say I was one of those many people who wasn't excited by his initial appointment but, when you hear the players talk about him and when you look at the commitment he has made to the club, I think the guy should be given some support.
It's common knowledge that we have the lowest player spend in SL and therefore it figures that we should finish bottom of the league but, we finished 11th (1 point off 9th).
Next season will be tough but, it will be a lot tougher if we all keep on knocking the coach and the players.

Disagree with your conclusion that the lowest spend equates to finishing bottom. John Kear and Paul Broadbent would have had these players in the top six without a doubt, they did it before and would indeed do it again if given the opportunity. Agars record is truly awful. Still that said I do not want to pour cold water over the optimistic nature of this original threa, its just that for all the good that may be happening I personally think that this move to give Agar 3 year is truly truly disasterous.

Hi guys, first post. Sadly it is a negative one because I agree with Worksopwildcat. Agar is not the man for the job, never has been and if we cast our minds back to his appointment he wasn't the supporters choice. If Wakefield want to move on then a new chairman should be just the begining

Who do you think would want to come ant coach here at the moment, with the cash constraints that would be placed upon them and the bare bones of a squad that we have ?

| Yep its not the time for knocking that's for sure. Next season will be a long hard slog and we need to stick together more than ever before.
I think Agar seems a honest sort of fellow and I wish him all the best. People will never always agree with how a coach operates and team selection, but in general I think hes done ok with the money available. The players all seem to like and respect agar and that's a big bonus, they I think will always put the effort in.

Good question and good point. Sadly we are a club in decline and there is no escaping that fact. I am a lifelong supporter and have up until now have always remained positive about "next season". Even under Kear next season was just the same as the previous season. We as supporters have tried time and again to assist the club in its whole matter of issues over the recent years and our voice has never been heard. I'm certainly not saying its time to give up but what i am saying is we are in decline and need to accept that.
