In view of the Club’s current financial predicament the Supporters Trust has organised a Supporters Meeting to see how we the supporters can assist with the situation.

The meeting will be held in Cats Bar at Belle Vue on Monday 16th September with doors opening at 7.00pm and the meeting commencing at 7.30pm.

Further details will be announced shortly but please put the date in your diaries.

So given the recent posts regarding Kirmond and Collis, what is the meeting going to assist in? I thought no more players would be sold unless the finance wasnt raised in the next few weeks....clearly if these players are going now, then the situation has changed massively. Think the supporters need to to know exactly whats going on now , not a week on Monday !!!!

it will be open to everyone. We are still working on things but please if this club means anything to you then put this date in your diary. As supporters we just may be able to do something to help, as long as we can all stand and work together.

It's free to enter.

Questions - well we aren't organising the lynch mob and we aren't wanting to spend the evening looking backwards, but for sure there will have to be some recognition of how we got to here.

This could be a big night, but the reason we are holding back a little is so that we can get the facts right.

Michael is doing his best to put the ducks in a row. He has everyone wanting either money or answers all at once and must lead with things in a certain priority. Staff departures, bills to settle, sponsors wanting assurance, players trying to resolve their futures - I'm sure most would not envy him just now.

The problem with these situations is that once word gets out - which happens quickly in a sports club - that there is a problem, everyone wants their bit - NOW!

The situation may be very fluent, but those who are left are doing their best to deal with matters and get back to whatever the new normality is.

As for the meeting, we can't bring you the information quicker than that. It's a Trust meeting - open to all - and will include Michael as an invited guest.

I can offer no guarantees as to what may occur between now and then I'm afraid, but we are trying to fix the lightbulb at the end of the tunnel as something to aim for!

It will be free entry.

The meeting will not be about apportioning blame it will be about what we can do as supporters pulling together with the Club can do to save it. The Trust is working with Michael Carter and Chris Brereton and as a result we are privy to some confidential information which has to remain just that. So before someone comes on here insinuating that "we are in the know", well we are, on some things but I'll bet not on all things and that's the way it has to be. We are not trying to look better than anyone else by being in the know we just need to be aware of facts if we have any chance of helping.

I'm sure we are all hurting, I know I am, and I'm damned annoyed that we find ourselves here again less than 3 years after we thought we had been saved and our future was secure. Well we are where we are and we have 2 simple choices. We can do nothing, let the Club die and its no good hoping that a Ken Davy or Dr Koukcash will come in and pick up the pieces and make us the biggest Club in the world because they wont and its likely to the end for Wakefield Trinity as we know it. Or we can fight.

Michael Carter and Chris Brereton are not giving up the fight. It would be the easiest thing in the world for them just to shrug their shoulders and walk away, but they haven't. I would not breech confidences but Michael has already said on another thread that he has put his house up as a guarantee (as has Chris). My god, he's put his house on the line, some will say "well he can afford it", but why the hell should he risk his house for Wakefield Trinity. How many on here would ? I certainly would not.

On another thread Michael has said that Danny Kirmond has not been sold to Warrington. What he hasn't said is that further players will not be sold, he could say that but that would be lieing because with our precarious financial situation he cannot guarantee that so he will not come out and lie to us.

Michael and Chris are 2 geniune and honest guys who believe they can save this Club and give it a sustainable future. They have put their money (and their houses) where their mouths are. If you love Wakefield Trinity as much as I do, and I know quite a few of you on here so I know you do then lets get behind these 2 and stop raking over the past. Michael and Chris now know what went wrong and future Business Plans will not make the same mistakes I'm sure of that.

I've said more than I wanted or should but the Trust will back these Guys and if you care about Wakefield Trinity then join us and come along to the meeting but we don't want any pitchforks and nooses.
