| Following the statement from our new chairman which is open and honest where does that leave Mr Elston? The statement says the club is run by Mr Carter and another director on a day to day basis!
A little more honesty is required and we need to know why we are in this position despite only being formed 3 years? Who is responsible? If if is Mr Elston what is his new role now the two directors are running the club. For me if he is responsible he should be no where near the management!
One final thing why do we continue to appoint ex players into commercial roles?

It is a bit historic that people expect ex players to step up and be great captains of industry. Now lets be perfectly honest, most players are not the sharpest knife in the box and I feel that their role upon retirement would be to pass on their skills to others, running a business should not be their roll. However there may be exceptions and more power to their elbow but Mr Elston is not one of the latter.

| Completely agree! Their area of expertise is "the game" and they should stick to coaching unless properly qualified with significant experience and proven commercial ability!
I want to buy my ticket again for next year but need to know the commercial roles are being undertaken by commercial people and the management are taking every step necessary to ensure this does not happen again!

I think clarification of what the previous incumbents of the leadership roles actually now are would be very helpful in getting people fully behind Mr Carter.

Is the theory that people will go all starry eyed in the presence of a random ex-player and throw a load of money at the club? Keeps mates in work too. Not sure it works.

I'm an ex-player who filled the commercial managers job, in my defence I had worked in sales for 15 years prior to my appointment. Apart from playing I'd worked on multi national accounts for both BT and Xerox, I had sold out Dewsbury and attracted such as NTL: to Ram Stadium before being asked to join Trinity during the ill fated Pearman era. My time at Wakefield was very successful despite what the Pearman antics brought down on us, I'd renegotiated the Sainsbury and White rose deals as well as taking us from 3 exec boxes and the Stoneleigh hotel to full capacity in 26 exec boxes and 180 guests sitting down for a 3 course per match meal, amongst other things....
I went on to market the Welsh group in the 2000 World Cup, at the time of appointment there were just 1,500 tickets sold for Millenium Stadium we ended up with a record RL crowd for a game in Wales. I also brought in many new partners to the Welsh RL. After that I spent 3 years as the main sponsorship negotiator for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.
Not every ex-payer is appointed on sentiment or purely as a figurehead.
Rant over
Sorry

I don't think any more honesty is required; the new Chairman is not going to detail all the bad decisions that he thinks contributed to where we are now and apportion blame to individuals, nor should he.
We've got what we're going to get by way of information - I'd rather see him crack on and get things fixed up, rather than play the blame game to satisfy a few morbid fans bloodlust.

| As much as many think we could benefit the club in whatever role, the reality of being an employee and a supporter are ver opposed positions at times.
In theory I'd love it, in practise...I'm out!!

He has stated we're running at a loss of 400k per year that's 1.2 million of debt in the 3 years. At least now we've got someone in charge that knows his figures.

No he didn't. He has stated we are £400K under capitalised at this moment.
£400K balances the books immediately, but clearly the income and expenditure balance needs changing in the future.
Not sure where £400K will come from though...
