I spoke to Oli Wilkes up at total fitness gym this morning who informed me that there was an optional training session this morning... Only 6 players turned up and that included only one that played against cas at the weekend (Chris Annakin) .

There should be no such thing as an optional training session they should all be compulsery unless you are injured or dead. Agar wants to get a grip of his team. If he can't get his players to do his bidding then he needs to go somewhere else. There should be never a situation when the tail wags the dog. This is a team that he put together so he has a resoponsibility to his paymaster to make them work. No top 8 for us this year, I can see us been saved from the wooden spoon by London.

Agreed. However it also shows how much this club means to the majority of the players and that is a big fat 0

Wonder if it was optional or like the dreaded question your boss asks which basically means you've not done enough so get your in and get some work done.

The players I saw were Lyne, Annakin, Wilkes, Wildie, Trout and Sykes. I agree, it's pathetic. The players who were there yesterday I also felt sorry for- they were beasted for a full hour doing circuits and them lads didnt play yesterday! I felt that they were being bitched for the rest of them who played, they got away with a swim!

go to a training session this morning!

Poor form on the players but shud not have been optional, they shud have all been made to turn up even the ones who did well. Most of then hardly put in any effort on Saturday so shud have had plenty in the tank for a training session.

I will always support the team when I see effort even if we lose, but last few occasions its been sadly lacking.

I don't mind the idea of optional sessions, it gives you a fair idea of how you stand (injured players aside)

Mathers has alluded on twitter to the fact only certain players were supposed to be there so doesn't sound like what I would define as an optional session.

However, would have liked the players to have gone in to show there as keen as us for them to get back on track

Well if Mathers thinks he got his preperation 100% right then I wouldn't like to see him get it wrong!
Try flying half way round the world landing 72 hours before kick off having 1 session with the team!
Now that's preperation!
