| Seems to be having a decent game atm, especially when they're winning the Storm 12 - 0 (3 trys none converted)

| He has had a steady game, but nothing to suggest we made a bad call releasing him. On another note I can't believe the amount of messing about at the play the ball Melbourne get away with when they're defending.

Agree, he has made a few tackles though. Melbourne always get away with nothing new

| Melbourne are the Leeds of the NRL, both with on-field decisions & the commentary team fawning over them.
Another similarity
Both lost…

| I watched the second half but Penrith didn't have much attacking ball and tackled for the majority of the second stanza. He put in a pretty poor attacking kick, made a decent tackle and fell of one late on. He had no influence on the game as Melbourne completely controlled the second half and Penrith couldn't get into the Storm's half.

| Like i said, i missed the first half so can't comment on it. But in the second half he hardly touched the ball such was Melbourne's dominance of the ball and field position. Hard to judge him when the game (second half) wasn't conducive to allow him to show his ability!
He tackled pretty well, but that's not what you want from a half. I'm a fan of his, i think he was unlucky at Wakey and i hope it goes well for him. At the end of the day they beat the Storm and that's only Penrith's third win this season so i'm sure he's happy

| Played well against Melbourne. First game at his new club and he offered more than our halves did on friday. Shame he wasnt one of agars favourites. Not like were short of a half back at the moment is it.

What i like to see in a half back is creativity and an intelligent and accurate kicking game. I didn't see that from John today (In the second half, have i mentioned i didn't see the first half!!). There are obvious contributing factors but tackling whilst an added bonus is secondary and only applicable if they can create.
I think you're reading too much into my comments. As i stated above, the second half wasn't conducive to a half back to allow a creative edge for Penrith. You can't read much into that second half as Storm dominated field position and possession. After a couple of games it'll be alot easier to judge him, because as you alude to he wasn't all that at Wakefield in more than one game.

| Paul Sykes can't tackle? Are you been serious try scorer, I doubt if he couldn't tackle he would of got to this level while playing Centre and Fullback through his career!
Isaac John did show some good glimpses for us but it didn't seem to click. He played today alright he wasn't a stand out nor did he look out of place but the whole team played really well. Sometimes it just doesn't work out and I wish him the best in the future.

| I watched the first half yesterday evening... the second half clashed with Doctor Who!!!!
I thought Issac did really well... good hands, excellent defending, broke the Melbourne defence a couple of times.
It will be interesting to see how he grows (or not) over the next few games.

You my friend are so negative, why not take a back seat and take a while off watching Trinity?
