| All about strengthening your franchise application/SL status with a bright fancy new shiny stadium... as a result Salford have funds but no pulling power.... no real quality ....
SL give you Hull KR on a Sunday night on SKY and you have 1900 there...
New stadium soon turns out to be a bag of concrete blocks chained to your feet....

| I think SL crowds are down everywhere except Wakefield ( but you seem to have been bouyed by good AWAY support).
The recession is begining to bite i am afraid and it will take a bigger toll on RL i think because the North is getting hammered by the coalition government

| Even in their Hay days Salford have not had a huge fan base. SL seem to have some dream of them as the Manchester United franchise in their little fantasy world of mergers and 10 big City teams. I wish all clubs to prosper but Salford have a lot to overcome to ever command big crowds; not the least the Socio-economic background of the area. That said...bad kick off time and on sky probably wipes 3000 off the gate at least.

| Got to be said, any team with this slot would have utterly struggled to get a decent crowd in.

So the reason our attendance is up is because of the away support! Our attendances have been going up since the beginning of last season. Give us some credit.

Your crowds have gone up since the takeover but I was on about this season i think both ourselves and HKR have had very good followings which will have helped your home average for 2013

But you only came with about 1200, and KR tops 1400, come on

Your home attendance vs London - 5273. Your home attendance a week later vs Wigan 8023....on your theory, clearly away followings are contributing towards both our average gates.
The last home gate we had against London was 5876 and our last home game vs Wigan was 9107. So, does that mean more londoners and wiganers preferred travelling to Wakefields 'tin pot' ground as a pose to Huddersfield's nice shiny modern one or does it mean that maybe, just maybe, the marketeers at Wakefield are doing a good job at generating increased attendance figures?
Away followings help all clubs but You have to acknowledge that our increased attendances aren't just due to increased away followings like your comment suggested.

I think the weather had a big effect on the London game, it was a horrible day, it had been snowing all morning and turned into persistent rain in the afternoon.
And the Wigan game changed within 48 hours to the Saturday instead of Sunday. I reckon it knocked 2500 off that Wigan game.

Unfortunately, average attendance figures don't come with a foot note and some grace saying things like 'bad weather, +2000 on this one'.

It only reads like that if your being defensive. I stated your crowds have gone up since the takeover and your average this year will have been boosted by good away followings. It will probably fall a bit when the likes of catalans, Salford and London come to town.
I know our attendances have suffered big time. I have not got a season ticket this year along with about 8 of my family for the first time since the early 80s. And i also agree that our average attendance is made up of bothe home and away fans
