| Like this signing.
Super league experience, been at 2 top clubs and i think we were a little thin in terms of numbers in the back line.

| Makes our backline look much stronger.
People talk about his attacking skills a lot (he played stand off a bit when at Leeds) but the particular thing I like about him is how he organises the defense.
When he played for Cas he was always shouting orders for the defense to move one way or the other and it worked very well.
That will be essencial for a team who are not used to playing together.

| Mixed feeling on this, mainly because i've spent previous years thinking he's a right pain in backside! But theres no doubt that he is a damn good player on his day and gives cover in positions we need. Yes he is prone to the odd cock-up in defence but his experience will be invaluble.

Aiton is a given, visa permitting. He is flying to Canberra tomorrow to get it fast-tracked. That team then will be a good raw-boned prop away from being in contention for that eighth spot, IF Agar can get them to gel. One thing that worries me though is a lack of a front line goalkicker.

Except when someone broke the line he had organised and he had to tackle them himself Seriously though I would have preferred he stayed at Cas even playing centre because we were already light in the backs especially the threequarters and he reads the attacking plays really well.

| I wasn't keen at all with this signing but if as rumoured that Cas are paying a third to half his wages then we have Value for money. Thats good enough for me.

| A very good full back, with a little bit of "bite" and if Cas are subsidising his wages, even better !

| Too good offer to turn down imo, even if his wage isn't getting subsidized by Cas, he's a good player who fits into a area where we needed cover. Even if he's a bit of a douchebag he's our douchebag for now.

2 years.
[i
The club can confirm that no discussions have taken place regarding the final year of Mathers' three year contract (2013) and that he will be free to face the Tigers in all competitions next season.[/i
Personally not bothered he has left really, he reminds me of a turnstyle. When anyone comes to him he does a 360 and the opposition player ends up scoring.
