| According to Andrew glover on twitter Tim smiths visa has arrived and he should be here in 2 weeks. Hope he can form a formidable partnership with John. Don't want to tempt fate but I reckon we are looking quite strong in all the pivotal positions 1,6,7,9 and have cover in each of these areas.

| There is a lot of concern being expressed about us being light re.the prop situation.
I am more worried about the threequarters.
What cover do we have for Mellars and Collis in the centre?
OK there is Walshaw, but he is young and unproven.
Where is the other quality winger other than Fox?
OK Cockayne can cover, but not if Tony is injured.
Morton I am not convinced about.
Is there any real class coming through the system?
Perhaps someone more in the know than myself can reassure me.

I'd start with Morton. He is good enough already ion my opinion. Made a big mistake once.....but I still think he is a good option for us. I'd play Cockayne at FB and Tony is cover for a lot of positions.
Kirmond is also cover at centre.

So would I - he's no less likely a candidate to make it as a SL winger than Jamie Foster at Saints; they are of similar build and at similar stages of their development as players. The main differences are of course that Foster is surrounded by quality and can kick goals from anywhere.
In my opinion, Dale Morton in the 2012 iteration of WTW will look like a completely different player to the 2011 version.

| Sounds similar to our recruitment! Very happy with the spine of 1, 6, 7 & 9 with a few options but looking a beat weak on numbers in the backs and could do with another front rower!
Not ideal that we're both looking for the same spots though

That works for me.
With Smith and John that could be a pretty entertaining back line.

| I think we have to understand that we are now limited on the budget available and I do know from a good feedback that we will have to move one or more players out to be able to recruite.
As much as I would like to see us cover all positions this will not be possible during this first season. Having said all that we are looking a competitive squad for 2012. Come on the Trin!

| It's a pretty handy backline and Walshaw showed alot of promise in his first team outting against Leeds, where as Tony and Kirmond are very capable back ups

Foster is head and shoulders above Morton in my opinion. The concern I have is that Tony is too injury prone to be our first choice full back, and Cockayne is a better player anyway. That leaves us with a problem on the wing, as I think Morton is too unreliable, and lacks the ability to be an effective Super League winger.

I think Foster is vastly over rated, he's a very good goal kicker but in general play he's average at best.
Were he not playing for Sts he'd struggle to make any impact whatsoever.
