Jesus christ 6 months ago we were going to be relegated, lose all our players and spend at least 3 years in the championship.

we survived and now have signed 15 players some of which are are top banana!! we are likely going to finish in the top 8 our season ticket sales are up a gizzilion percent.

Really? I'd expect a hell of a better season than last year but top 8 will be a stretch when there are players who we are looking to be our stars, who don't have the best track record with fitness, no big props, brand new half back partnership and no recognised goal kicker. 9th/10th would be a massive improvement and with good recruitment next off season then we could have a real good go at top 8. Hope springs eternal and all that, but just feel it could be a little early this year.

I don't think anyone is really moaning about our current situation Sun Bed but most are realists and don't like to see too many changes in one go, especially if they feel our promising youngsters are gonna be well down the pecking order. 15 new signings is a lot I know but I'm with you, I believe the top 8 is achieveable and I also believe with a healthier squad, our youngsters can be introduced at a steadier pace. At times last season, especially towards the end, they looked shot as we only had a small squad and they all needed a rest. This time they will be nurtured and given game time gradually, benefitting the squad and the team as a whole.

Everyone is banging on about youngsters. I'd rather finish top 4 with a mix of youth and experience, than 12th with youngsters.
The "youth policy" of last season was out of pure neccessity and not because we wanted a young team although the club, quite rightly, put some spin on the situation to make a positive from a negative.
With the new coach and some cash to spend, we have signed a number of players that are far superior to anything we had last season and we have the bonus of Amor, Johnson, Mariano and others who probably would not have been considered prior to last season had circumstances been different.
At the moment it is all good news at BV. We may sill need a couple of props and of course the new taem is untried, but the worst case scenario is a major improvement on last season and the major thing for the club is going to be off field, on the outskirts of Stanley.
Personally I cant wait for the new season. Come on Trin !!

Couldn't agree more, fed up listening to people moaning about our promising young talent being pushed out by experienced players! Would've killed for the likes of bluey last year and if the young lads are as good as some believe, they'll get their chance!! Stop moaning and bring on 2012!!
