Is it a coincidence that Andrew Glover is following and vice versa 4 players that are linked with Wakefield:

Isaac John
Sam Obst
Ewan Dowes
Rob Burrow

Hope it's more than coincidence, not overly fussed about Sam returning but if ge does I'll support him as I know he'll give his all for us. Isaac John is the complete half according to monty Bethan and he thinks he'll be a real star over here. Said he's extremely unlucky not to be playing first team as he's got two outstanding talents in front of him in but when he's played first grade he's not looked out of place at all. Dowes would add consistent performances without setting the world alight and burrows we all know about.

I would feel slightly underwhelmed if we brought Obst back. But if we do I hope it's to cover at hooker and not as a scrum half.

Obst I can see as useful cover in several positions and Dowes, for me, would be a replacement for Korki but with added reliability, both in terms of injuries and errors/penalties.

Rob Burrow and Isaac John would be outstanding acquisitions - fingers crossed.

Is it possible for Burrows to have a testimonial even if he moves? Didn't JD manage this?

If so then it's possible, if not no chance IMHO. Even then I think he'd lose to much good will from Leeds fans - just can't see it.

Obst is yesterdays news and (despite the good service he has given us in the past) we really should be setting our sites higher than a journeyman import who is the wrong side of 30.

Dowes would be a good addition in my opinion.

Isaac John - dont know the first thing about him, and not a fan of picking up 2nd graders from down under but at least there is a potential up side (a la Henry Paul) if he doest come good, with him being young.

Burrow - Unlikely for reasons stated in posts above.

I think he can have one granted by the rfl.

Sorry but theres no way Burrow will be moving anywhere until his testimnonial is done with so forget about him until this time next year at best. Talk is we are in for two overseas halfbacks so I imagine we will only get Obst if he gets a British passport, otherwise he will see his contract out at Hull.

Did he sign a 2 year deal? Thought it was only a 1 year contract.

Nope he's under contract at Hull for next season but they would like to release him for salary cap purposes. They are also wanting to bring in an overseas centre. The signings they've made make it unlikely he'll get much game time there and would he would be handy for us but the quota thing is a problem.

Everybodys getting a bit fidgety about salary caps?

I think there is one difference with this particular 2nd Grader. The players in front of him at the Warriors are World Class, plain and simple.

according to isaac john if i pick up the tab then he is on his way..shame i can't afford it tho
