Thats got little to do with fitness. Colins job is to get the players to levels set by the coach, maybe he's failed in doing that or maybe the levels set down by the coach are all wrong.
I don't know Colin but he's paid to do a job and if he's done it then fair enough, he can hardly be blamed for following orders can he.

Al, If he is the conditioning expert though he should be responsible for the players fitness/strength levels, and if Kear is asking for them to be conditioned in the wrong way he should tell him so. We clearly lack the bulk/fitness that players from other clubs do and that imo is a contributing factor to some of the blow out scores - we get dominated by the opposition and fatigued much quicker.
Hickey is a classic example. He has been here long enough now that we should have seen a marked improvement - he should have been doing "extras" and been on a specific programme tailored to get him into decent shape. If that has been done and Hickey is not abiding by it, then show him the door.
Gledhill is another, where Parrish has alluded to the fact that he needs to bulk out and will then be a handful. His off-season at Salford will no doubt consist of putting on the extra muscle mass and he will then no doubt develop into a decent SL player.

I fully agree but if the boss says do it my way then what can he do, i'm not saying thats the case just suggesting its not clear cut.
IMO they have got the conditioning wrong this year and it does not help if you play off the back foot.

| I would have thought that a conditioner would have individual diets & training dossiers on each of the players & that they would be ready for JK to get match fitness !

I don't know for sure and maybe others may have a better idea of how it works, at end of the day one man makes the call and as the final say.

| I would presume that whoever the new coach is would want to bring his own backroom staff in so if Colin has got himself somewhere else lined up then good luck to him.

| Good luck Mr Sanctuary - I hope wherever he goes has good tanning facilities and plenty of mirrors.
For me though, if ever an organisation needed a new broom approach, it's WTW; our new coach should be involved in putting together a totally new backroom staff, including someone who understands how to condition RL players for strength, bulk, power and stamina - we're miles behind in virtually all of those categories.

| Its been a difficult job for Colin with all the amount of players he has to deal with all on his own. Look at the amount of backroom staff/facilities and structure Aussie clubs have compared to some SL clubs. The new Salford coach said as much in an interview lately i think. Add to all the uncertainty and consistancy at the start of the season and i think his job would have been a difficult one this season.

| All the best Colin, one of the most respected in his field. Know he worked with Durham cricket and helped bring the likes of Mustard & Onions through. Thanks for sticking with us through some very tough times

| Offered a role in the NRL with Wayne bennett but still some say he isn't good enough for wakey......i love this idea that conditiners are 100% responsable for fitness and not the player...do you think the conditioners live and sleep with the players....players can go past Mac'd's or go in....if they go in who's fault is that?
Re Hickey...we should have sent him home the moment we saw him....clearly no self discipline
