I’d hope they tell the truth (very much doubt it though) that the RFL were going to admit a failing expansionist side at any cost, however the said side pulled out at the death, leaving Lewis to make the best of a bad job on Sky News.

The Crusaders should never have been given a Licence first time round, however, in a strange twist of fate, they’ve saved our bacon. Remember, if the Crusaders hadn’t gone bust last year, the RFL wouldn’t have played the insolvency is irrelevant card & we’d have been gone.

According to Mr Glover on Calendar he has been speaking to Blake Solly (RFL Compliance Officer I think?) and was told our application was stronger than both Halifax and Crusaders so we are in on merit anyway.

Would like to think that that point will be stressed to all media outlets (and no doubt ignored by them all!!)

I was watching the 2006 relegation final last night (thanks Al) - Eddie and Stevo were pulling us to bits then, they've been doing it ever since and I have no doubt that they'll continue to do so; we'll be 'saved by the misfortune of another club' 'last minute reprieve' '9 lives' etc etc, until we win the Challenge Cup or have a good play-off run, then all of a sudden they'll be jizzing over how wonderful it is to see a traditional heartland club doing well.
