We will be holding a fans forum on August 2nd at Belle Vue, doors open at 7.00pm.
The evening is open to WTST members and NON members.

Confirmed guests include Andrew Glover & James Elston with other club personalit​ies possibly added as we near the event.

Invitation​s to Richard Lewis, Nigel Wood and Ralph Rimmer have been issued however Ralph Rimmer has already respectful​ly declined.

This will be the first opportunit​y for Wakefield Trinity Wildcat fans to discuss the franchise decision and to put questions regarding the implicatio​ns of decision, positive or negative, to Andrew and James.

Food and drinks will be available.

Has anyone ever seen Richard Lewis at a game other than an international/final? I think he hides in a cupboard at home in case somebody asks him a question about franchises....

From what I understand, Lewis has other roles outside the RFL that take up some of his time, and, his job is not to watch matches for free but improve the standing of the sport, attract sponsors, better TV deals etc.

Wood & Rimmer are more your day-to-day people running the company.

is lewis real? i thought it was a myth . a pseudonym to make all chairman behave and go to bed early on franchise eve.

Am I getting too wrapped up in conspiracy theories or is this a sign that the decision next week is going to be what the majority of us expect and he therefore dare not turn up because he won't be able to justify the decision if he is grilled on the individual facets of the franchise application grading

It was my first impression too. But then i thought it would be unprofesional of him to turn up at a " celebration " if we got the nod. Theres so many different angles to look at the 3 invites its bonkers to even think theyd ask them, never mind if they turned up!

Why is it bonkers to ask them?

Is it beyond the realms that, whatever the decision, someone from the RFL could take part in a very civilised Q&A session about the how and the wherefores of the franchise decision making.

Those of us that form the WTST steering committee have a vast amount of experience in many walks of life including working with and for the governing bodies of many sports. Those sports include the RFL and others which dwarf Rugby League like the FA and the Commonwealth Games Association. With that in mind it was discussed, deemed appropriate to invite an RFL director and feasible that that may attend.

Maybe you have some insight that you might share with the rest of us that tells you different to the above.

Because of the general anti-RFL feeling here? Even Eddie Hemmings is being targetted and he's just a sodding TV presenter. Should this club not get a licence, do you think some would behave in a civilised manner?

And ask yourself the same question once Glover says its buy one get one free on Carlsberg for the evening too !
