| (There's a long thread title for you!)
One thing that struck me last night, is that the majority of those at the meeting last night will have been 50+, and who knows how many times they've dug into their pockets over the years to 'save' the club (and thank you for that), but. how can we get the younger end of our support to get involved with initiatives like the Trust?

By giving us all hope and encouragement that we can be the club we want to be.
In one line I think it covers all we need to do, but there are a million lines to complete about how we go about that.
Last nights meeting was one step along that road!

| Part of the problem is that the club hasn't engaged with the 18 -30 age group well enough IMO.
If the trust wants people of this age group involved then there will have to find a way of doing so. An informal event to introduce the aims and ideas behind the Trust aimed at the youngs ones might well get us interested. Another big point is not to turn away any offers of help, they will be some in this age group who won't have the skills to make a huge difference, but will want to develop the skills by being involved.
As for an informal event, it could be something as simple helping organise a Tag or Touch Rugby Tournament with the local team with people from the trust and Supporters Direct on hand for people to talk to beforehand / inbetween games / afterwards. From personally expereince, after representing Wakefield in last years Supporters' Direct tag tournament (we finished 3rd btw) meant I got to talk to people involved with other Trusts (like Rochdale) and people from Supporters' Direct actually got me looking into how trusts could make a difference.

| New stadium end of it will sovle 90% of our problems. New facilities and a stand with a roof over our heads creates atmosphere and atmosphere attracts crowds especially the young ones. The new stadium will provide a whole new image for Wakefield + get rid of the wildcats add on and cartoon badge we are WAKEFIELD TRINITY a worldwide recognised brand

| Getting rid of the Wildcats brand would be a big mistake in my view.
Moving forward the club need to properly integrate both the Trinity and Wildcats brands in order for the club to be a success.
I think at times we forget we have had the name for 12 years now and a whole new generation have and are continuing to build a relationship with the brand. To revert back to Trinity now, could cause the younger end of the spectrum to lose affinity with the brand, an age group which we need to appeal to the most in order to build a consistent brand for the future.
Therefore I beleive reverting just back to Trinity is not an option, but we must also support the heritage of the club.
onwards and upwards.

| Wakefield Trinity RLFC, The Wildcats (as a suffix) or Wildcat Stadium should be enough.
Nobody knows what a dreadnought is these days, so I'd incorporate the Wildcats as either a nickname or the name for NM.
The biggest brand we have is Wakefield Trinity! Manchester United would never rename themselves Manchester Red Devils, the brand is there, the nickname runs aside it. Incorporate the junior supporters into it by all means, bit the older end will be happy to be just good old Wakefield Trinity.

Judging by last night, that wouldn't take much; Cats Bar did look a bit like the dining room of a care home at tea time.
The OP has a good point though, to which I don't have any answers.

90 percent of your problems ? Doubtful , your attendances might go up , but your income might reduce

Don't think so, I'm pretty sure my heart will take.
Seriously, we have to get the Trust up and running. Lets not run before we can walk. We then need to look how we can engage with younger people, what would attrat them to get involved with the Club and Trust.
As I say, lets get the Trust up and running first.
