According to the website he has signed until the end of 2012 which in my opinion is a good thing because it shows us that he is at the club for the right reasons and isn't just here to earn himself a contract at a super league club if we dont get a franchise.

Lets just make sure we get the ball out to him so we can utilise his pace !

By far the quickest in Super League

Never been a big fan but he is the kind of winger that if he lets in a try, he will get you two at the other end.

Pointless signing cos he'll never get the ball anyway.

I've critcised Kear, but he aint thick; I have to assume therefore that given the signing of Penny, he'll train specifically in the off-season to get the ball out to him, otherwise, it's a pointless signing.

Let's also hope that we come out next season with some plays that ensure Millard gets more high ball; shocking waste this year, given his athleticism.

We could use him like the way Leeds used to use Calderwood.. Pump it deep and get Penny to pressure...

Thought the club release was a bit of a back handed compliment,saying Warrington identified his pace but then loaned him out to other clubs and now let us sign him. I await his debut with anticipation.

Find a Penny pick it up put it your club and get good luck...

Any way I'm happy with Penny, I hope he proves his doubters wrong, and comes good not just for the club,but for him self too.. Well come to Wakefield..

IMO this is exactly the type signing we want. Players who have something to prove, and a hunger to get back to top flight RL.

Kear's "projects" got us a long way before, welcome aboard Kev.

That is not where the good stuff ends, while his speed is obvious to everyone what is maybe not so obvious is his ability to take advantage of his pace in various ways.  He positions himself to make a break, has a great ability to offset the defence by varying his pace, has a great instinctive awareness of how to manipulate the defender with body shape, swerve, in and out, and he certainly doesn't lack bottle when going low for a try.

His defence is obviously a concern but he has shown over the last two years that he is willing to work on it and has the ability to improve. It's an aspect of the game he will always be troubled by but it's also something he that can get better with good coaching and experience.  

His signing will give us a cutting edge and we will have an ability to score from anywhere provided we can get the ball to him. 

Happy with this signing and agree its the type of signing we want.

When he first broke through at Warrington I thought he was goign to be something special. I still think he can but suspect he has confidence issues and hopefully Wakey could be just the place to get over them.
