| Can somebody clarify who our Quota players will be next year, as far as I know the limit will be 5. As it stand we seem to have the following 6:-
Millard
Jeffries
Obst
Morrison
Parker
Smith.
Unless the status of 1 of them has changed who is on the way out.
I`m assuming that we aren`t keeping Charlie, although I don`t know how American-Somoans are treated with regard to Quota

Doesn't matter anymore, clubs are allowed 5 quota players, but are only allowed 5 overseas players in total. You could have 3 quota and 2 non fed, or just 5 quota players.

| I'm beginning to think we might see some sort of "vanishing" trick
Don't see how else we can be doing it.

Might take him off quota, but, he will still be counted as non-federation trained. Unless by becoming a British citizen means he is in the same category as Henderson and Korkidas.

I can't get my head round this overseas rule, if the rule is 5 oversaes players in total even if a player puts in for a uk passport surley he is still an overseas player. Not having a go at wakey here so please dont think i am as most clubs seem to have way more overseas players than the supposed 5 signed up for next season, as i said it just makes no sense to me and it is one rule i would love to be cleared up.

| Very confusing, I seem to remember that players who were playing in this country prior to 2007, when the regulations were introduced, can be classified as Federation Trained, if this is correct BJ & Sam may have this dispensation, clear as mud really.
According to an old League Express HKR had 8 Non-Fed, & Catalans had 10, lost count on Wrexham Anzacs, 13/14 I think. Looks like only time will tell.

Spoke to BJ a few weeks ago and he qualifies for residency mid way through next year so I guess he wouldn't come off quota before that no matter what.
I think the non-quota/Kolpak exemptions only applied to Kolpak/Europeans anyway so Aussies still count no matter what (but don't quote me as it is as clear as mud!!)

| IF the internet is correct then;
The rules of 2011 are;
- At least 8 home grown players.
- No more than 5 quota players.
- No more than 5 overseas trained players inc quota players.
- Rest of squad to be from players trained within same federation
However there are some exceptions;
- When a player has played for a rugby team for six years, he is eligible to gain British citizenship and does not count under the quota.
- If the player has a passport for any EU nation or a Kolpak nation.
- If the player is from a Kolpak nation such as Samoa or Tonga.

| A player being here 6 years - would this include Obst (2004) and Jeffries (2002)?
Player has a passport for any EU nation or Kolpack nation - would this include Millard (Fijian)?
From a Kolpack Nation - would this include Leaeno (Samoan) and JJP (PNG)?

| Kolpak players still count on the quota although I think Obst may be off quota by now. The RFL really needs to publish a list of overseas players for each club, their current status and then when dispensation can be applied for/granted.

I agree. I twould at least then stop everyone accusing all the other clubs of breaking the rules or having special privileges etc.
Not that I don't think some teams try very hard to break the spirit of the rules (including Wakey).
A clear explanation and a list of players statuses should be provided by the RFL.

| If a player comes off the quota after being at a club for 6 years then this would mean that Obst is no longer counted as a quota player. BJ has spent 6 years with us but went to Bradford for 2 years in the middle of that spell so does that mean he is off the quota?
