Wakefield Angry Residents, interesting name especially when a good percentage of areas highlighted on their map are in Leeds. I wonder how many of these so called objectors will be applying for jobs at the development when it is successful. How many will really notice the increased traffic flow from the M62, as far as I am aware there are no residential properties on that part of Aberford Road. I honestly believe a better name for the group would either be Non-Wakefield Supporters Dead Against The Stadium or my personal favourite Turning Wakefield Against Timing of Stadium (they could have the initials printed on t-shirts).

i have just sent an e mail , i suggest we bombard them with these and urge the council and yorkcourt to take action now!

Still can't think why the Express doesn't run with IA's proposal with respect to the local residents who are for this development. It's pretty much all been once sided with the people who are against and in this day and age of mob rule many will have jumped on the bandwagon on the back of this coverage. That goes for the evening post too for the benefit of our near neighbours.

Still many of the objections have been covered so as others have said the proposal will be decided on planning issues, and not letters for or against. No harm in sending them in though, particularly pointing out flaws in the arguments of faux groups such as WCCG and WAR.

Did anyone hear the interview I did with Radio Leeds this morning - I was put head-to-head with the MP for Elmet!

Love to know what anyone thought - before I say what I think?

Also - Look North tonight - there will be a feature showing both sides of the argument, but this one will be put together from individual interviews.

What I dont get is the involvement of Leeds City Council-have they got some kind of hidden agenda?

We did have support from them initially, but a change of control in Leeds has lead to influence from councillors in the surrounding areas.

We still don't think it's a show-stopper, but it is slightly concerning.

ALL of the arguments raised against the scheme can be / have been dealt with, bar the NIMBY one for which there will always be. Even if we built it on the face of the moon, someone would be upset that it ruined their view and the wonderful ecological value of it - so, if we accept that there will ALWAYS be someone against any development, then do the arguments against this scheme add up to much more than they would for any other?

Remember - we have over 15,000 people who have signed to support the need for this scheme - that's a compelling argument!
