It's not very often I post on the forum, However I've had enough of the continual trauma that is Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
We never advance, it's the same almost every year a roller coaster ride of mainly lows, player unrest, a shop where the manager would have been sacked years ago if his Dad had not been in charge.
As a share holder, I have not been notified of meetings.
Yet again we have nose dived from a promising start to the season.
We are expected to support our club blindly, never given an explanation of the deals that are done, it's always " an undisclosed ammount "
It seems that our club is restrained from ever taking the next step up, and always seem to take the cheap option, that situation rests with TED !!!, who I feel is not really bothered about success.
The last two home games I witnessed were diabolical, a win against a pathetic Salford side, and a no show against a poor Crusaders side, in both those we lacked any real attacking ideas, a good side would have beaten both of us those days.
So I've come to the agonising decision to stop spending my hard earned money going to the games until, instead of me being told to be patient, and wait for something to happen, I will wait until I see some positive moves by the club to rectify the position.
As much as I detest the goings on at Wigan over the years, with blatant infringements of the rules etc, one thing you can say about Wigan is that the board did whatever it took to bring success to the club.
I will always consider Wakefield close to my heart, after 52 years enough is enough. d040.gif

well its your perocative but I have been a fan of Trinity for about 21 years and there have been much lower lows than what we currently have. If you have stuck it out for 50 years plus why have our current problems done it for you.

If the question posed is 'am I at a low ebb as a Trinity fan?', the answer would be yes. At the moment, the rugby played is uninspiring to watch at best. We look poor and appear to have limited prospects this season, lacking organisation on the pitch, and in particular weaknesses in the backs, lacking pace and defensive coordination.

However, that really is seeing things over a narrow timeframe. When seen from the perspective of where we were in 2006, seemingly on the brink of losing SL status, or ten years ago, when we were delighted just to get back in, or even 20+ years ago, when yo-yoing up and down was the norm, then this is just another blip.

Of course the club is run on a shoestring and we struggle to compete with the big boys, it has always been that way, but crowds are still better than what they were. Equally, parts of club as an organisation can still be highlighted as amateurish, but it is light years better that where it was even 5 years ago. We can all dredge up poor experiences with the shop, a shoddy burger van or a badly lit toilet. I'd rather remind myself though that we have the most stable coaching set up I've seen in my time, a better youth system, much stronger community work, generally better gates and plans in place for a new stadium.

I'm no rose tinted type. I'm not going to even pretend I clapped them off yesterday; the performance was shoddy and a too large a minority of the players really ought to consider what they are doing. In the bigger scheme of things though, I don't see it being worth chucking the towel in over just yet though.

I admire the honesty of the opening post. I also have a feeling that you're not alone in those thoughts.

I must admit having had a similar feeling for a while myself, the only thing that keeps me going is the fact that I have followed the club so closely for so long and I am the type of person that once I commit to something I stay loyal to it.

It is worrying though that large numbers of fans will be fed up and will stop going. If diehard fans are starting to feel like this then casual supporters certainly will be.

I'm not sure what the answer is though? It's an entertainment business at the end of the day and one thing you can say for sure at the moment is that a Sunday afternoon at Belle Vue is anything but entertaining. It's totally lifeless with no atmosphere at all...the pre-match and half time entertainment is again not entertaining at all and the product on the pitch has been very poor of late too..

Even when results are good and we're playing well that is not pulling in the punters. IMO the club need to do more to encourage people to go to games and make it feel worth the £20 entrance fee whether we win or not or play well or not.

It goes without saying and is obvious to everyone that we need the new ground to lift everyone's spirits. I think the long slow process is grinding people down and we just all want that sorted out. If that doesn't come about we're doomed!

I'm cheesed off with things too but in mentioning Wigan you have hit the nail on the head. Compare the average attendance of both clubs and the thing that makes a difference is they have lots of money due to a fan base of around 15000 and ours of around 5000.

Mmmmmm? 2007 - 8th out of 12. 2008 - 8th out of 12 + CCSF. 2009 - 5th out of 14, so 1 season of progression in fact. This season I think we'll be lucky to even finish in top 8.
Fraid I agree with the original poster on this 1. icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

Fraid I agree with the original poster on this 1. You don't think 8th, 8th (and a CC Semi-final), 5th is progress on the majority of the previous 8 years?
