Why only 3 months when most players get 12 months for Testimonials? Players in Oz get longer bans than that!

They did not have to award anything......quite sure JD will be happy enough with this!

I think a 12 month testimonial is reserved for players who have served one club for a ten years peiod while 3 month testimonials are for services to the game.

As they should be, as much as personally I think loyalty is over-rated in the modern game, giving 10 years to one club deserved the full 12 months. This isn't something which should be slagged off and is an honour that not all players with long careers get!

I might be being a bit daft here, but why do you need "permission" for a testimonial? Surely if the club want to raise funds to thank a player for their service be it 10 years or not, its them that ultimately generates/forfeits the revenue so why do they need permission?

Is something to do with tax or salary cap?
