| Returning home in two weeks time. Catalans over here talking with an unamed half back about joining their club. Could we be about to have a bidding war on our hands for DB?

| Dont think Mogg has been as effective since they moved him from Centre.

Cant agree with that, him at stand off and Bird at loose forward, dragged what was an average team into the play offs and pretty much beat us on there own at Belle Vue.

One swallow dont make a summer as they say what about the rest of the season when he was at best average, where as before at centre he was nearly always stand out.

Think that provided a deal can be agreed between us and Hull KR, Cooke would surely want to come to us over Catalan. This is nothing against them, but his career has stagnated and he clearly enjoyed playing under JK at Hull - given he needs to prove himself in the remainder of this season to get a contract offer for next season, I suspect he will look to go where he thinks he has the best chance of securing one (and i think that would be us)
I am sure JD was quoted in one of the RL papers on Monday saying he met Cooke on holiday in the off season (pure chance were staying at the same resort) and Cooke said then he would like to pay for Wakey

i know, lets stick danny on ebay....
Whats interesting here, for all dannys on field skills....he has only been linked to SL clubs....when other players were rumoured to be on their way.....ellis, burgess etc....they were linked to NRL clubs which they ended up joining....
I wonder if broughs future has simply not reached the NRL or if there isnt anyone interested from the NRL, which perhaps questions broughs true ability....or if due to his finances, he wouldnt get a work visa for oz..?

British forwards tend to stand up well against their Antipodean counterparts where as the backs pale into insignificance. That could be the underlying reason why Ellis, Burgess and to a lesser extent Flanagan, are able to attract the attention of the NRL coaches while talented back in SL (Long, Brough, McGuire, Burrow) rarely, if ever, feature in their plans.

| The Catalans defo want Brough.
Their chairman has spoken of the need for a half and the advantages of an english player (They have a crazy idea that the English don't really want them in Superleague and we send refs over to scupper their Rugby - Guasch, the Chaitrman reckons an English player might make them less likely to suffer such injustices - I know its all very Victor Hugo )
Anyway, he won't go. He lives in Hull with his wife and owns a place there. Likewise, if they were to enquire about Cooke, he wouldn't want to move from Hull where his kid lives.
It kind of says a lot about our players and maybe our culture in general that we (well I) find it almost unimaginable that most English players would want to live and play in france, yet the Aussies come from half way across the world to do so.
