| Hi folks
This is my first post on any forum. I am a Cowboy supporter from Townsville and a new Wakefield Trinity fan. I just wanted to say you have surely bought well with Tronc. I have been following him for years and have seen most of his home games at the Cowboys. He is a late bloomer but a real good one.
He will give you more than 120 metres and 25 tackles a game and do it without fuss. He is a gentleman off the field so you folk have done well. His best football is in front of him and the Cowboys were idiots to let him go.
We on the other hand have got a big Willie Mason who has played his best football and the way he lives off field impacts badly on his game. He has been a better player than Tronc but that is in the past and Tronc hasn't reached his peak yet.
I am probably not going to like the answer but does anyone know how much you are paying Tronc? You got him half way through last year and he played his best footy in the back half of the season. I reckon if he had of held off he would have got bigger offers but good luck to your club for being astute.
I took 6 points start and backed you with Leeds because I reckon this could be your year.

| Welcome Cowboy, I've watched him 4 or 5 times and i'm hooked with him, simple game play but very effective and a real grafter for the team. I doubt anyone will now how much he's on and nor should they but he's becoming a fav at Wakey.

| Thanks, The reason I decided to join a forum rather than just read the posts was comments like
After reading that I just had to join the fun.
BIGAL 1 the system is very different in Aussie with the salary cap because most supporters have a fair idea what their players are getting paid. I am not saying its better. It's just the way it is. Players salary negotiations are played out in the media which openly comment on the amount paid to senior players.
Thanks for the welcolme.

| Glad to have you aboard meatymeaty, you`ll be pleased to hear that you`re not the only Wakefield fan in Queensland, my sister & brother-in-law live in White Rock and my daughter and family are in Redlynch. I was over there a while back and when I heard Cowboys fans bulling up Carl Webb I said I`d take Tronc over him anytime. I understand what you say about the Salary Cap, it seems to be a lot more transparent over there, I was told that because Tronc had been with them for 5 years the Cowboys were obliged to offer him considerably enhanced terms on any new contract, they were not prepared to do this so the Cowboys` loss is Wakefield`s gain.
I`m not impressed with the decision to sign Willie Mason, he`s just a mercenary loose cannon. The Cowboys would have been better served with former Wakefield player James Stosic, who we sadly had to release for Quota reasons, I believe he`s now back over there playing Reserve grade, (or whatever it`s called).
Good luck when the NRL starts again in March, I always look for the Cowboys results and of course I have to root for Queensland in SOR.

That is the problem over here, the media they just see Rugby League still as a back water game only played and followed by Northeners! where as the game in Oz compares with the Premier League over here for media coverage as we all seem to know how much the likes of Lampard Gerrard and the like all earn a week.

| I'm another who has family in Queensland, Cairns to be specific.
Went to the Dairy Farmers Stadium a few years back whan Matt Adamson played for Penrith and Glenn Morrison played for the Cowboys, Cowboys won and Adamson was sent off.
Like the look of Tronc, solid and very hard working.
Hope the Cowboys have a great season

| Hi and welcome aboard.
One thing that i wasn't expecting from Tronc was his offload game. I was expecting a straight "up the gut's" no nonsense style of play but on having seen him twice against Wigan and Catalan he is not afraid to get the ball away. Time will tell. A real shame we don't have him and Stosic but as a Wakefield fan I am not allowed to be greedy.
All the best from someone that hopes to visit your part of the world one day.

| Hi Semitone and Lifelongfan. I see both of you have relations in Cairns. Really nice place.
Jason, Tronc wasn't encouraged to pop the pass to often at the Cowboys. I am glad your coach is letting him play a bit more freely. He will make mistakes but I think if you look at it overall it is good more often than not.
It's 2.15 am in the morning over hear and I am listening to the call on Yorkshire radio. Good call and good game. I should have backed Wildcats straight out instead of being a chicken and taking the 6 points start at $2.05.
At the risk of being a smart alec Tronc went longer than 10 minutes. Leeds are definatly a half decent attack and their not directing their attack at him.
Got that one wrong Hindyscrack

It is "Fifita" not "Fafita"
If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

| Welcome meatymeaty and congratulations on choosing Wakefield as your English team. We don't have much silverware but have lots of excitement and pulsating rugby.
Tronc is working out well so far for us. I've seen him twice and am very impressed with his dedicated attitude, great driver of the ball who really makes the hard yards (working well and inspiring his co-prop Korkidas) and he does some very effective off loads. Prop off loads are sadly not something we see too much of at Wakey so it is great to see.
I am also very excited about Daryl Millard who is already showing a lot of promise with some amazing passes. Any comments on him?

| Not really, I haven't focussed on Millard but I am glad he is going well. Korkidas stats in the first to games were good. I think you have a very handy pack.
