that's what one of our fellow posters is going to attempt in a mad run for charity to raise awareness of the liver disease that his two-year-old son Luke is battling.

a little snippet from the yorkshire post
Luke was just five weeks old when he fell gravely ill with rare liver condition biliary atresia. Toxins built up in his liver because the passage to his intestines was blocked.
He underwent a life-saving operation at St James Hospital in Leeds to remove his bile duct and intestine.

www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 5590858.jp

I would like to wish you good luck in your run and hope that the small donation can go a long way in achieving your goal and hope that you could receive more donations large or small

good luck Jonh eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif

Had a look at the "donate" site, but I'd sooner post a cheque, tbh.

Could you post the details on here, please, gaylord? I feel bad enough for your little lad knowing his dad's a Wigan fan.

Good luck with the run, mate. Hope you raise loads! eusa_clap.gif

Cheers Snowie.

What i would say is I am not just doing it for the money. I appreciate its tough for everyone at the moment and i am unbelievably grateful for anything i get, BUT if you are unable to donate or have other things you need to/wish to support I totally understand but would hope you would have a look at the Organ Donor site, it takes a couple of minutes to register and god forbid should the worst ever happen to you what greater more noble act than to give the gift of life.

Hopefully Luke will not need an organ, touch wood he will be one of the lucky few with his condition that gets through it on just medication, but from the time we have spent in hospital with transplant patients and children waiting for transplants any organ is the chance of life that most of us take for granted.

I would just like to thank anyone who has taken even a passing interest in my challenge as it is as much about raising awareness as it is about raising money, and i am genuinely humbled (yes even me! icon_wink.gif ) by the response and messages of support.

I also have £200 to add to the total that currently stands on the website from a donation by my Dad.

I would also like to offer a public service announcement to anyone in the Newton Hill area, i am upping the training over the next few weeks to be more functional which means stripping back the layers in an attempt to get used to the cold, so please if you do see someone wearing very little running round the fields surrounded by Leeds Rd, Ouchthorpe Lane behind Field Head, I am not an escaped patient simply a fool preparing for a fool hardy challenge.

As oppose to a Cas, Bradford, Halifax, Widnes and back to Cas fan living in Warrington, by all means Tony lad have a pop but on that score you really leave yourself open for a pretty easy response. icon_wink.gif

Just had a look the donation page and can i publicly thank everyone that has donated. I have tried to PM everyone personally to express my thanks but i get the feeling some of the donations have come from this source but your forum name has not been left, so obviously i am not able to PM you.

I am lost for words genuinely so at the response, i find it inspirational and it gives me great strength and confidence that I am going to complete my challenge even if i have to drag myself round in the deep throws of hypothermia.

I sometimes cringe at the expression "rugby league family" I can assure you i will not in the future, the greatest game with the greatest fans.

Merry Xmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year to one and all.

Regards

Jonh

YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! icon_frustrated.gif Fed up of this dull debate with you you chimp! Yes, started with Cas then returned. Though my allegience with the other 3 were purely to do with the fact they provided the money for my rent/morgage.

Though I cannot defend the allegation about living in Warrington. For that I am truly sorry! icon_biggrin.gifOH:
