| We have improved year-on-year since John Kear became coach. I have no idea what we pay him but he is worth every penny. I am looking forward to the play-offs and then next season.

| Look, 2006, Wakefield and Cas playing in a bottom of the table, loser leaves town match. 2009 and both are in the play offs.
Hats off to Kear and Matterson.

| Been watching Wakey for over 30 years. I remember we came 4th in the early 80s. Could have been second but we lost our last game of the season away at Cas. I enjoyed 2004 (think). But this has surpassed it. Please enjoy itl as history suggests it may be a while since we reach these heights again. THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS. Enjoy!

Hats off to the leveling down ethos of the cap in its current form.

| Not wishing to pee on your bonfire but that tonight was the worst game I have seen this season.
That's not a criticism of Wakefield this season as you have done brilliantly, just a reflection on tonights game.

I would have thought Celtic away would have taken that honour

No, Celtic played well, Wigan didn't.
Both sides tonight were poor.

Hull KR were awful, Wakefield average.

What it does supply in it's present form is a competition that's more sellable because of the "leveling down ethos".
That the level of intensity in the competition has increased 10 fold.
Clubs Academys are now being given the attention they deserve and hopefully more of these kids will make the grade up into SL.
This years competition went into it's last weekend with positions 3 thru 8 still to be decided. You cannot knock that in the slightest.
Same goes for the Championship this year an outstanding competition with no promotion.
As for Wakey we are probably still only spending 70% of the available cap so an outstanding effort by the club and it's players.

But yet Leeds or Saints will still win it.
I am all for the cap, but in its current form it does little for the game, and it could easily be altered to enhance all the pro's you state above.
We do need a cap, just the current form is in my opinion not the best way to go about it.

| We may have a winner from Leeds or Saints, but taken this is the first year of the franchise system and already we have seen benefits filtering thru.
New champions every season won't happen overnight (if ever) but with the threat of relegation away the focus as been on the top eight and that can only be good for the game.
The play-off system with eight does look more balanced and I really look forward to seeing the "Coach's Pick" in action this year and with fingers crossed we'll be in the mix.
All in all we can nitpick at lots of things in the game but on the whole we get the majority right. You've only to look at Footy and Union to see what I mean.
