| Can anybody confirm that Cas's Ryan Boyle is to sign for us for 2010? Heard it will not be announced until after next weeks derby game for some reason.

| I truly hope not! He is considerably overweight. I wouldn't doubt he has promise, but to be so fat as a full-time pro rugby player suggests he has not got the mentality, motivation or desire to realise his potential.
Maybe, a move to a club with a more professional environment would do him good though??
Do we need another "project player"?

| havinf spoken to ryan only the end of last week i can confirm ryan has been offered a poor deal by cas for another 2 years. ryan wants to stay i assure you and i think most cas fans want him to stay. Wakey, leeds and KR have shown an interets in him (he was going to KR in stead of bibb but he currently has no licence DD tut tut so pulled out) but he would like to tay at cas with the right contract but if cas refuse to up their offer then he way have to go elsewhere - wakey i would gues as he has recently got a house with their lass in cas so a move would not be an option at leats until he gets his licence back.
100% can confirm he has not signed for wakey (yet) and nor will he until he is sure he is unable to get a better offer form cas. but the chances of that happening sound slim.

So cas can't offer him enough but Wakey can? The same Wakey that are skint? Do try and keep up with your own rubbish!

A close friend of mine is a Cas player (won't name him) - he too has been offered awful terms for his new contract despite playing well this year and has made the decision to leave (or rather forced out).
Perhaps Cas do have money worries!!!

please! why would it be that cas can't afford to offer him the money - really give your head a shake. the reason is that their is a distinctive click at cas and ryan's face doesn't fit in the click. Terry Matterson for some reason doesn't rate ryan as highly as the fans do. now i am not entirely sure iff this is becase us cas fans are blinkered and becaus ehe is a cas lad we rate him higher than he really is to an outsider. but for me never gives anything less than 100% which form a kid is all you can ask for.
so to answer your question, ryan is currently on pennies and would like a small raise to help with his new found lifestyle i.e. his house bills but the word is TM is refusing him this. and ryan is holding out for more money before deciding what to do.

| From what I have seen of him, he looks a decent player and I am supprised cas are not holding on to him (if true).
As far as his build is concerned he looks like a prop should look.

It is all relative I suppose when you are considering the Cas squad.

| Quote: Prince Buster "From what I have seen of him, he looks a decent player and I am supprised cas are not holding on to him (if true).'" It must be a sign of money troubles. What with the rumour of Shenton to Leeds for 200K sounds like Cas need the money fast. Maybe some of the sponsorship money has gone missing again.

exactly, we have plenty of good young lads / project players.
if it were upto me, id be looking to bring in someone, preferably english, who is established and who will bring real quality to the side. somebody who has the qualities and the status which demands the young lads look up to and can learn off.

| Ryan will sign a new deal at Cas but it will be just a bit time sorting his contract out even though i still not sure he will make the grade.
