Based on the performance against Bradford, the news on players being fit and the probable lists of Owen, I'd go with the following team to play Leigh away.

L Smith
Johnstone
Tupou
Arundel
Lyne
Miller
T Smith
Anderson
Sio
Scruton
Ashurst
Molloy
Simon

Godinet
Washbrook
Lauitiiti
Mullally

I'd rotate the props one at a time, when we took both off v Bradford we lost too much momentum. I'd start Simon at 13 but once I'd spelled him I'd be looking to reintroduce him in the front row to keep the pack on the front foot.

Salford 46 v 18 Leigh

Leigh will be smarting from that and will have had a week of home truths rammed down their necks. We've got to be ready for a bit of an onslaught in the early stages of the game

Leigh were once again poor and are a mile off being at any of the superleague clubs level. They will try and come out of the the block fast next week but if we weather that and perform like yesterday we will get a relatively comfortable win.

We've showed we can attack but Leigh have some strong forwards so I feel it's defence and completion that will win this
Having said that I was very upbeat after yesterday and much more confident of a win
Come on the Trin

My old games teacher used to say to us after a win or defeat, in any sport, you weren't as good or as bad as you probably thought you were, still not sure to this day whether there's anything in that...... d040.gif I watched the game, I would disagree slightly, I wouldn't say they were poor. Salford's pack dominated for most of the game, and Rangi had one of his 'on' days and had a field day, apart from when he threw a crazy pass out under his own sticks and all they had to do was catch and ground the ball, which the Leigh guy couldn't. They were outplayed for most of the game, but, they did actually have 4 tries disallowed, a couple were a bit dodgy. The way Leigh play, whether they are being dominated or not, they will always create chances, they will try stuff other teams won't, and if it does come off for them, they are very capable of racking up a fair few points. They will test our defence far more than Bradford did yesterday, and that has been our achillies heel all season. But, you are pretty good with your predictions icon_wink.gif so I hope you're right. Getting back to my old games teacher, maybe there is something in what he used to say icon_lol.gif I wouldn't get too carried away with us yesterday, as BS said in his post match interview, we've a long way to go yet......

Salford's forwards dominated today. All game. Chase and Dobson ran the show. They will throw everything at you in the first twenty, and if you weather it they will rely on high-risk plays. They are very good at running high risk plays, mind you, and can score in broken-play from anywhere. If you play smart, and with heart, I think you'll beat them fairly comfortably. The big question for me, is will Leigh come with a sensible gameplan to try and get the win or play their usual throw-and-hope style. They know this is a crucial game, but I think they'll play more desperation stuff than the hard percentages. This will play into your hands imo, and I think Smith will have a solid game plan ready to go.

I think we've learnt enough this weekend to know exactly what we have to do.

Make sure our pack dominates from the off and we control possession. If we have long periods of possession like we did against Bradford then there is little that Leigh can do.

We know Leigh are good in attack and there is little doubt they will score a few past us. I suspect they have the quicker players too. However, they seem woeful in defence. If we played a controlled game then we can win this comfortably.

If we panic or cough up possession too easily (and be penalised for striping when we clearly haven't - again!) then it is going to be a tough match for us.

IF our forwards click as they did yesterday Leigh will not live with them. Like I said IF they do they will lay the foundations for a comfortable win IMO.

You may have a point.

Leigh are very good going forward, but they certainly haven't shown that they can compete defensively. They rely on outscoring rather than quality defense. Your forwards will be key in keeping the speed of the ptb high and tiring out their forwards. Salford did this all match today and they got run over. The final score flattering Leigh imo.

Reading between the lines it sounds as though Paul Rowley is accepting defeat in attempting promotion. I think it's too early to say that, unless he knows something about his squad that no one from the outside would know.

Maybe he realises now the toll that's been taken on his players in fighting a hard Championship campaign, Challeng Cup matches and then 7 weeks of Super 8s.

My mind goes back to 1998 and HKR, after we'd beaten them black and blue they were expected to go to Featherstone and win, setting up another game against us. However, they were done, physically and mentally they had nothing left and subsequently got flogged against Fev.

Is Paul Rowley seeing the signs of fatigue in his team, are they busted?

Rowley saidwe came up against a Salford side who played to a high Super League standard. They were much too good for us and our kicking game was really poor.

"It's man in the mirror and keep our nerve time now. It wasn't do or die today but we have to keep our swagger and our heads held high and go again.

"The Super League club's finances have a bit to do with it but it's proving an impossible dream at the moment for championship clubs."

Yeah but I bet his house is immaculate, he must have met a load of plasterers, painters and roofers the last few years!

From what I saw last week, and from reports of todays game at Salford,it would seem the discipline at Leigh has been acceptable.I don't think it will last.

A former NRL player, recently at Featherstone, came out with a lovely quote - “They play a very hard style of football, as I found out when I was in the Featherstone side at Blackpool.

“At times it was like prison rules,
