I admired him as a player yet as a coach all he does is moan. He's just embarrassed that Widnes haven't put 40+ past us like everyone else so has to come up with some excuse.

Cas fan here and I've always admired the belle vue pitch although to be fair the rest of the ground doesn't reflect this. I don't know how it feels to play on the Widnes pitch but it did look ok when they first started playing on it. Unfortunately it now looks like a threadbare carpet.

Has he forgot what he said to Ritchie Mathers about manning up regarding the plastic pitch.

It seems he as to say something derogatory every time we play them.

Hope you don't mind me posting here guys. I've just read that rubbish that DB came out with. Cant believe its come from the mouth of a coach who has a home advantage every game with that cr*p plastic that they play on. I have been coming to Belle Vue for our matches for over 25 years and can never remember seeing a bad pitch, it always looks a good playing surface. The guy just cant help moaning after every game, win or lose, about something. Shame really, I admired and respected him as a player, but as a coach he is just a moaning idiot!
