| After the error strewn performances of the past 3 games we will not make the top 8. We can't complete sets of 6, missing tackles and failing to wrap the ball up.
Kicking game is rubbish as well, no variation close to line.
Lets look to next season and working on sorting the mistakes out and defence

| If Agar hasn't resolved it in two seasons, we're unlikely to see a different pattern next year.

| Still have a chance maybe slim but you managed it last year with the run of wins, you never know just takes a stroke of luck.

| Game management is really shocking.
Putting Bradford under pressure at the end of the game and
1) Tautai takes it upon himself to kick the ball into touch
2) Reece Lyne kicks through a nothing ball that he has no chance of catching up to
3) Tim Smith takes the ball and gets tackled on the penultimate tackle of a set leaving us with nobody to control the ball on the 5th
Last week Agar criticised the team for poor game management - this week we see the same again. I realise the players are the ones doing it but if the coach is spotting it and not doing anything about it then he is equally to blame.
3 games that we could have won with just a little bit more composure have seen us get ZERO points. That's not good enough in my opinion.

I reckon we would need to win all our remaining games to make it and with the way we're coming up with stupid mistakes I can't see us beating...
Warrington AWAY
Saints HOME
Huddersfield AWAY
Castleford HOME
We might win one, possibly even two with a bit of luck but all four is definitely beyond us IMO

I'm disappointed that we haven't managed to win any of the last 3, but to be fair, we have battled well and pushed all teams close. We've missed Sykes massively, one of the pitfalls of having no backup halves - a problem that needs sorting for next season for sure.
As for TT and Lynes kicks, yes they were poor but if either one of them came off we would have won the game, more composure required but at least they were trying to catch the Bulls defence off guard as we weren't having much joy through the middle.
We had the rub of the green at the back end of last year, possibly a touch unlucky this time with some of the injuries, ref calls and handling errors, but thats the way it goes sometimes.

| Could win 3 but means having to be wolves or Shudds away. Look at Catalans games left they would be the target to jump above.

| At the end of yesterday's game I said to myself that is our season over with. I can't see how we could possibly make the eight now. Not with our fixtures and the teams above us. I was hoping the win yesterday would keep us in touch with Hull FC and hope for Wembley to be a distraction for them.
Bradford are now right back in it and vying for a place.
I rue the too many "must win" games which we have blown through poor or no commitment performances. These include Salford at home, Hull KR away and Cas at the Magic Weekend. I honestly thought we'd take one of the games off Leeds and yesterday was always a must win game.
The lack of moving forward with the defensive line in the last 15-20 mins was poor. We gave away virtually 10 yards every tackle without effort on their part. It is little wonder they got 2 tries in quick succession.
Why on earth was Ben C penalised just before half time? I thought he was trying to play the ball. I'm also of the opinion that their first try was with a forward pass. These are all minor elements though. Even with this we were more than good enough to win yesterday and we didn't.
Time to reflect, learn and be better for next year.

| If we play with the attitude that our season is over, we may slip lower still.
We need to win as many games as we can, Sts and Cas being important.
Even 9th is going to be hard now but Bradford could slip up yet, but we don't want to drop to 11th.

Do you know in a strange sort of way it may be a good thing if we drop to 11th or lower.
If we managed to sneak into the 8th it may make people think we are better than we actually are.
Dropping to 11th may be the wake up call we need to make the harsh decisions that I think are required
to tackle next season.

It was either moving off the mark or milking a penalty, either of which are outrageous decisions, given that both things go unpunished in every game every single week; also, since HKR lost to Wigan on Friday in no small part through losing a man to the sin bin after the team had been put on a warning half an hour prior, why didn't Mr Child see fit to put Bradford on a warning, after conceding 5 or 6 penalties on the bounce for infringements in the tackle?
Often a ref will even up the penalty count to create the impression of fairness; context however, is everything - that penalty was in the dying seconds of half time - it allowed them to go score and go into the sheds virtually all square, after being out-played for 40 minutes.
Not that I'm bitter or anything.

| On reflection, yesterday was our last chance saloon to stay in touch with the top 8 but we don't seem to have that extra bit of class to get over the line in these close games. We are a 'nearly' team and year on year we can't quite do it when the pressure's on to win a game. We nearly beat Hudds at home, Leeds away, Leeds at home and Bradford at home. We did brilliantly against Warrington and Wigan at home and were poor against Salford and Hull at home. We look capable of beating anyone in patches but let ourselves down with dumb play, poor tackling, soft tries and wasted opportunities when we're well on top in games, yesterday being a prime example. I'd like to see more backing up when a player makes a burst, twice yesterday Lee Smith shimmied and made room heading towards the line and nobody went with him, it seems we don't back ourselves enough when we have teams on the rack. I still believe we are good enough to be in that top 8 and if we recruit a couple of quality players we will improve next season. I'm forever hopeful, you have to be, nearly team or not they will always get my support.

| We don't have a Brough, Sinfield or Briers kind of player, who can take control of a situation and do the right thing; for me, it's absolutely essential that we sign a quality 6 who can get his hands on the ball and make the right play at the right time - a bit of composure in any number of these tight games would have seen us over the line.
I wonder if Thomas Bosc fancies a year in sunny West Yorkshire - he might fancy working more closely with his new national coach?

What I said on here after the game was nearly identical to that. That call on cockayne was absurd. Absolutely absurd. If he's gonna penalise that, then there would be 10 penalties or more per game for the same offence at the very least.

| Trouble is even with Sykes in the squad we still make silly stupid dumb ass errors in defence but Sykes does help cover for them.We need a quality 6 or even a 7 and move Tim Smith to 6 where he would have more time to do his stuff. It appears to be in our game DNA to make those errors as we have done it for 2 seasons now.
