I know there was an issue at half time today with the sound and the club should not be blamed for that ( that fault has to lie with the groups people ) but shoudl we really be spending money on acts such as this?

I heard a rumour and I hope it is just that, but it cost us £10k for them lads to turn up today. Why do we insist on having BGT or Xfactor acts at the ground. I thought this was New Wakefield. Wasn't it old Wakefield that did just that?
Please Mr Glover, no more. I know that in certain areas acts like this appeal, but really?? Today?? Doubt it!
Surely the money spent today on an act like this would have been better spent on other areas?

There is a time and place for acts such as this and in the middle of a Rugby Field is not one of them ( IMO ).
Next time, why not try and do another World Record for something on the field. Always gets the crowd going and they look far better than 3 lads stood very awkwardly waiting for a bloke to put a fuse in a plug

When we have had these acts on in the past, it has generally had a massive impact on crowd numbers.
I know its not everybodys cup of tea, but they do attract good numbers of younger supporters.
The crowd was given at 6400, which against Crus, is pretty good.

I think the £10 entry had more of an impact yesterday than New Bounce on the crowd numbers. Moral of the story is save the cash they charged and lower the ticket price!

Exactly. Do we get a discount because the equipment failed icon_smile.gif
Think next season the club needs to look long and hard at the offer. Bradfords deal last year has proved a great success and you can see more club's replicating that. Also it was mentioned on Saturdays Sky game that Shudd are offering a £50 season ticket for 2000 fans to sit behind the posts.Incredibly cheap (probably too cheap) but highly inventive.

Not worth the money IMO.

For free it would be mutch better to get a few of our fans, a few of theirs in sumo suits, hit the post competitions etc. Or even quiz them on the knowledge of their own club.

The crowd would at least be interested in something like that.

Bring back the Eric France gold bullion challenge - winning ticket gets to kick from the 25m line for £50 and if he gets it has the chance to gamble and go for a conversion from half way to for the Franc gold bar. Either that or something similar to what they do at HKR - sponsored by a bookie and they get different odds for kicking different difficulty conversions.

having entertainment in itself can work, look at last years when we had a big turnout for some other load of old knackers who ever it was - you got to get the act right if you do do it.

Danyl Johnson caused quite a stir last season - I was jostled by hormonal teenagers as he did his lap of the field, high-fiving whilst miming to a recorded song. I took pleasure in standing back with my arms folded, refusing to appear in the slightest bit entertained. Which I wasn't.

Whilst I don't go to rugby matches to watch acts like New Bounce, I can see how they can add a few hundred to the gate who wouldn't normally go. However, I can't see many people being enticed by the prospect of an half time quiz icon_lol.gif

Agreed - it's not my cup of tea, but it works when it's done properly; the less said about the New Bounce experience though, the better - that was just embarassing.

It was cringeworthy and part of a frankly awful day at the club; I left feeling worse than I have in many years. We looked a shambles in all areas of the club in the week we controversially got a franchise. I agree this nonsense was part of the farce and embarrassment. No more please! And some PA we can hear in the stand would be nice too, as I have asked for a many times before Mr Elston.

I thought they were giving away Fabric Softner and I'm not joking. I'd never heard of this Rock Pop Combo and I consider myself very hip icon_cool.gif
