That sums it up perfectly!
The ego and personal wellbeing of the refs are far more important than the safety of the players!!!

| Shouldn't touch the ref though - that's football behaviour; correct call.

| One person i expected to see called up was Ben Westwood. Could have sworn i saw him do some kind of elbow drop on Leeds player. I know some of us like to see this but would have thought it would have been looked at.

Agreed, not something that should happen, Ali got away with it not long since.

Ali merely tapped the ref on the shoulder while Bailey probably yanked him.

I've no idea what Bailey did and i know what Ali did and in what spirit he did it, but any contact with the Ref is a no no, and no excuses in my book.

Bailey was running in the direction the Wire were throwing the ball and the ref was in the way . Watch the clip on that popular video sharing site to see just how out of position the ref was . Anyone wearing anything other than a Ref's shirt would have been penalised for being in such a position at the PTB . The PTB was about three metres out , and the ref was stood very close to it with his back to the defence . He moved to his right when 'prompted' by Webb . That put him in the line of TMIMISL's run . Total incompetence on the ref's part .
Bailey didn't yank him at all . He pushed a body out of the way as he headed to where the line needed defending . That body happened to be the ref . Had that body been a Wire player then the try that was scored would probably have been turned down for obstruction .
HTH .

To be fair, that's just how I saw it too.

Nice detailed reply but ref can stand where he likes and Bailey needs to be more aware of what he is doing.
His own fault, not refs.

Nonetheless, I refer the right honourable gentleman to my previous response; can't touch the ref - correct call.

| Credit the club for coming out in support of the ban and respect our sport has for officials. As the ball was passed beyond the C defender it didn't really affect baileys effectiveness in the line, im sure he enjoyed a little shove on the ref, poor positioning from silverwood, but no major deal just making a statement and Leeds seem to have accepted it.
