| Mr O'Mara has been asked by his friend to sell a car for him, so he advertises the car for sale, and Mr Plover comes to have a look at it. It's not a brilliant car, and isn't exactly exciting to drive, and it's got a few miles on the clock, but it runs okay, and could be a good runner again with a bit of money spent on it. They agree a deal, and Mr Plover goes away to sort out the finances, and agrees to return the following week to buy the car.
However, when Mr Plover returns, he is handed an inflated balloon by Mr O'Mara. When he asks what it is, Mr O'Mara tells him that the balloon contains the air out of the tyres, as that is all that is left of the car, because he has broken the car into pieces and sold it to other buyers.
Mr Plover isn't happy and says that he agreed to buy the whole car, but Mr O'Mara isn't interested, and still wants all of Mr Plovers money.
MR PLOVER THEN WALKS AWAY, AS THERE IS NO MORE CAR....JUST A LOAD OF FRESH AIR !!

Unfortunately, you failed to mention that Mr. O'Mara had a pressing duty to pay off a lot of the rather substantial HP that was unpaid by the previous owner when he took charge of the car, and that a garage bill and the road tax and MOT were also due while Mr. Plover was obtaining his driving licence.

Hey I'm not trying to troll as I don't do that. It's just that the terms of the deal struck are between the administrator and the buyer. The administrator's duty is to the creditors and if it can rescue the company so that the creditors get a better deal that they would by dissolving the company, then that's what they do.
The last thing I'd want to see is Wakefield go out of business, as it's a club with a proud and successful history and invariably Cas have great games against you. I've been following the business on the internet and I sincerely hope that you do turn it round. However, the reality is that when an administrator takes over the running of any business they have to take decisions that make sense financially. As it is, that's what they're doing at Wakefield, and the buyers would be aware that this could happen when entering into discussions in the first place.
If it was any other business, one of the first things an administrator would do was to look at cutting the workforce to keep the running costs as low as possible - and everyone would expect this to happen. As it is, the playing staff at any RL club is very high profile, but the administrators will also see the signing fee as being an added incentive for letting staff go. Were it a manufacturing company, if they were offered a fee to let the best welder go to a rival company, I'm sure they would do exactly the same as they are unfortunately doing at Wakey with your playing staff.
I'm sure that the buyers are perfectly aware that this could and would happen due to the nature of administration. Just keep the faith and hope the takeover goes soon.

| Might be worth asking some Crusaders fans in the know what happened. They still owe 700K to the RFL but most of the rest was owed to HMRC. Was this paid by the new owners or did the RFL put up the money and then added it to their existing bill.? There is something on the O'hara's website mentioning the sale of the club to the new owners but not much disclosure. I am guessing that they paid a big portion of what was owed.

The problem we have is that it is not just our best welder that's gone (Davide) ....they are selling off the laithes, presses, milling machines, drills, screwdrivers, spanners and even the bloody toolboxes....there will be nothing left to work with by the time they have finished !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| I don't think ANYBODY will find out what went on at crusaders - maybe somebody does'nt want ANYBODY to know the truth.
It is a shame one of the founder members of the game is in this state - I am a widnes fan - I know what it's like.
Unfortunately the word "family" and super league no longer go together - it's every man for himself now, everybody complains but is afraid to bite the hand that feeds, in case they lose their place at the top table.
Just remember guys, you may be down, but your'e not out.
