As I said on the other thread, a shame but you reap what you sow. Crazy to say he's not made the grade, he's still got time and with the game time he's likely to get he'll be back in SL soon enough.

Shame he never got a chance. Shame our former world class coach stuck with players in poor form than give Walshaw a sustained run of games. Annakin will be next mark my words.

Shame he was never given a chance by Agar, gutted that he has gone. No blame attached to Lucas or for a change his agent, he should have been playing first team for three years now, Kear and Agar failed him.

I am a little surprised by this. I thought Walshaw of the present crop of homegrown youngsters (Wildie, Trout etc) had the most potential. He will do well at Bradford.
I am not into kneejerk reactions but I will be watching closely future decision re young players as to the point of paying into the 1873 scheme.
Supporters like me will want to see some evidence that the money is producing players for WTW!

Like many others, thought Walshaw was starting to show some quality and he's looked strong this season (when selected).

Good luck lad !

I would have kept him but difficult to know whether it is a good decision without knowing what Bradford offered compared to us

Really disappointed by this.
When given a chance played very well I thought.
Played well when Collis was injured (most of the season) and was unlucky not to get a longer run.
May haunt us in the future.

That's the biggest crying shame of all that we are not in a position to offer him a decent enough contract to stay with us until he fully develops the potential he has shown as would not be the case at some of the richer clubs', and it looks like Webbo does not think he's ready yet, the disappointing thing is he probably won't be the last either purely down to economics.

Thing is I don't feel it is fully down to economics. Much like Kay last year, if he had been given a decent run of games over the last year or so he may have forgone greater financial reward to compete at a higher level. If, as a club we continue to overlook club trained players and expect them to be SL standard without giving them sufficient exposure then Walshaw certainly won't be the last to leave.

I think Walshaw will do well under Lowes if he gets a run at second row in what looks like a very big powerful Bradford pack.

I just hope we have now got enough strength in depth and have improved our pack sufficiently enough for next season to compete more consistently with the 'bigger' teams next season.
