Richard Agar has confirmed that Danny kirmond has now been given the Captaincy for the season with Richie Mathers taking the vice role!
Does this mean that Southern is all but set to be going home? Or does Agar just thing he's not upto the job.
I know he's had a lot of stick on here but I thought southern played well last week and seemed more vocal than previous games, it's no secret he was having troubles at home but surely this isn't going to help the guy or rebuild his confidence. Is this a bit of kick in the teeth for bluey??

Perhaps its to lift some pressure of Bluey's shoulders, who knows? Only he and Agar could answer that.

There was no obvious choice at the beginning of the season and it almost fell to Southern by default.
If he is having problems off the field it can only be a good thing to take that responsibility away. He can do without it.

It depends how Agar has handled things.
If he's spoken to Southern or if Southern has spoken to RA and they agree that its for the best, then there is no problem but, if the captaincy has just been passed on then Southern wont be happy.
For the club though, Kirmond is a great choice. He's been excellent all season and certainly has shown 100% commitment all season.

seems strange to have a loan player as vice - unless its a done deal to to sign him permantley.

on bluey i speak to him quiet regular and when i asked him about returning home - his reponse was very positive said he will be back definatley for next year.

i think next year we will see the true Steve Southern.

I doubt Southern will have asked for this but I do think this will have come about from both Agar and himself talking and realizing he will be probably best without Captaincy duties, he just needs to concentrate on his own game at the moment and I reckon we'll see a better version of him, especially next year.

Southern better not be PROP next year !!!

Mathers is in discussions to stay next year. Nothing definite but it is likely that he'll be here.

Not that it means much but our captain (Kirmo) and vice captain (RM) are both loan players.

kirmo is on a 3 year deal

I thought Kirmond was a permanent swap for Murphy. Pretty sure he and raleigh signed 3 year deals.
