Whats the latest with the ground developments? Does planning permission have to be submitted? If so, has it? When can work commence?

I seem to remember someone saying it was going to start after the end of season awards do??

When I left on friday I noticed behind the boxes were stacks of what may have been seats - don't know if they were part of the temp stands but they were not there before and there was a lot of whatever it was. icon_confused.gif

The first thing the club has to do is submit a planning application so keep an eye out for that.
Then its up to WMDC to approve the details at best this will take about 3 months I would suspect.
Once we get approval the action should begin and from all accounts the whole process should take around a month or so I am lead to believe. If it runs smooothly without problems I think we will just about have it all done before next season starts.

If that is the case why was this not submitted the day after we were granted a license?

Once a Sandal Wild Cat always a Sandal Wild Cat. Some talk of Bradford Northern and some of Hull and Leeds Of Wigan and St Helens and such great teams as these Of all the teams in Rugby league with me you will agree The best team in the whole wide world is Wakefield Trinity! Bring back the British Coal shirts for 2012[/color:3drl5tww] Come home Steve Georgallis & Nigel Wright[/color:3drl5tww]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_54709.jpg

If they are still intending to dig out the northern terrace you would imagine that alone would take more than a month.

Don't worry about the council, if you've read the latest council statement re:Newmarket you'll you how closely we're working with them at the moment.
The structures will be temporary, both in terms of the purpose & lifespan.

The council are 100% behind NM & therefore WT in SL. If these measures have to be taken to ensure we have a place in SL our council won't let us down. I expect these to be pushed through much quicker than the usual 3 months.

As I said earlier; to anyone who doubt the WMDC & they extent the value WT- have a read of their latest remit. It makes a very reassuring read. They're fighting tooth and nail for us & putting together a very good case too!

First of all re nortrhern terrace, I was told that any ground work will be very minimal and also the stand will only be covereing the upper half as this will enable the floodlights to drop down along the walk way that runs mid terrace.

I don't disagree about WMDC and there is no doubt they have changed their attitude towards the club over the years. I don't think there will be problems with the planning and it should be just a formality. However its the speed at which the 'officers' work, they only have one pace so I would be amazed if this gets over everyones desk within 3 months.

Last but not least I think there will be one objection from a certain councillor in the area but I don't think anyobne will take any notice of it. icon_wink.gif

I asked the question a few weeks back. Apparently the plans were being fine-tuned to suit Sky’s requirements. Not sure what the status is now, although the club are leaving it a little tight in getting all their ducks in a row to enable the work to be completed by the start of the new season.

You're joking aren't you? We've got a God given right to be in Super League didn't you know? Just like Halifax, oh, errr, wait a minute.
