Players would certainly have a different approach to tackling if their ban was equal to any absence due to an injury that they had caused / contributed to.
It would certainly stop the cynical stuff from the likes of Wigan.
Sadly, I dont think this would ever be agreed.

| I still think back to Chester's first season in charge. Wigan away, O'Loughlin high tackle on Annakin, Annakin out for the rest of the season. The punishment should've fitted the crime.

| Wasn’t it KR player or Catalans player that got an extended ban when they found a players was more serious. Surely we should be speaking to the RFL about this which should result in Lawrence getting further games.

have you even read the charge? Because for some reason the minutes haven’t been released, so how do you know what the decision was for?
Lawrence has been playing the game for a decade and in that time has only ever until now received a single one game ban. This despite the fact that he’s played over 250 games at the highest level and is usually the guy with the highest tackle count.
Blame the ref for not calling held, or Arona for not surrendering to the tackle, or wearing blades instead of studs. Don’t blame a guy as straight as they come. To suggest he should be banned for the season is just laughable given his previous record- Go cry to the RFL- they’ll just laugh in your face.

How very respectful of an equally straight-up, honest player who has just suffered a season-ending injury.
Personally, I don't have much truck with the ban should = the time out with injury argument; it's fraught with difficulty and would throw up as many unfair decisions as the current system does.
Some injuries are just unfortunate accidents and we have to live with them; some are the result of deliberate foul play, and I understand the frustration when other teams appear to 'benefit' from a retrospective ban - but I genuinely don't think there's a viable and practicable alternative system.

I wouldn't call for Lawrence to be banned for the season but a one game ban is equally as ridiculous.
We have been subject to a string of 'dubious' incidents this season which have led to players sidelined for weeks, or in Arona's case the season.
A lot of these 'tackles' are a deliberate attempt to injure players and it's time the authorities woke up and sent out a clear message to players and coaches.
This does not just apply to WT but also other clubs players .

| I don't agree that these tackles are a deliberate attempt to injure the player.
I do think they are an attempt to stop the player with little regard for their safety.
The RFL need to take a stand on that.

| So lawrence got a one match ban wouldn't it be fairer to say that when he played Wakefield next that ban should come into force, Not have the team they play the week after getting the benefit.
