Proud of the lads today thought up until 50 mins we were in the game. Gaskell our most experience player kicking it on 2nr or 3rd when we needed hold of the ball but TBF he was quite inventive but nobody expected the kicks.
The young lads excellent today Corey hall and Murphy looked quality. Bowes tackled great.
More impressed with fitness and not giving up. They did well.
We still need another prop tho.

Enjoyed the game.

Bowes has a bit to go with his distribution as you’d expect a at his age but defensively excellent. He has one hell of an engine.

Hall and Murphy looked good but a season or so in the reserves. They did seem to have a rapport though.

To be honest they all played well within reason, the senior players did a stint without over doing it which allowed the kids to have a go.

Poching must be happy, he’s got more depth there than he thought. Even his own lad didn’t look half bad.

I agree. Liked the look of Hall. Think he'll turn out to be a good signing.

Couldn't make it today. Out of curiosity, what position does Willie's lad Kobe play..I know he was initially at Huddersfield, then went down under for a bit

I thought we had a good defensive and reasonable attack first half, two mistakes let Leeds in for 2 quick trys. Second half we struggled to get out of our half, our last tackle kicks were poor, ball was either easily taken by a line defender or straight to a downfield defender, with time to return, whereas Leeds kickers got the ball past the last trinity man, and tackles made on the trinity line.
I thought Leeds had worked on the runaround move with a neat inside ball to a man on the angled run, I’m sure most teams will be able to deal with that.
Trinity certainly seemed enthusiastic, and I’m sure they will be fairly satisfied today.

I agree another prop would be nice, but I also think Aydin is going to more involved this year and he certainly doesn't look out of place. I still think we're light at hooker, Bowes did okay but is nowhere near ready for regular SL and I think a stint out on loan would do him good. As it stands Brad Walker would be my choice for interchange 9, I don't think he has the creativity yet for the halves but reads the game well, is a strong tackler and his passing is pretty accurate. He needs to cement a place this year and hooker looks the most likely for me.

To say we had our whole back line sat out we competed well in the first half whilst not causing leeds too many headaches. Second half leeds stretched their legs and showed some class touches with sezar and Newman stand outs for me . Great to see our youngsters up against much more accomplished opposition and making a good fist of it ,and will have done them the world of good ,as well as seeing exactly where they are in their development moving forwards .

Looking at YouTube since the Leeds game, I noticed there’s at least 5 videos by the Leeds club, highlights from the coach and various players re this game. I haven’t seen anything from Trinity, it’s disappointing that Trinity media team seems lacking in this department.
