| Was this one a roll over already? If so then why does it go up by only £250 each time?
Personally I think they shouldn't have used a four number system, I think they should have just given everyone a membership number and drawn those out so there was a winner each week.

Now i'm not professing to be a maths wiz but i've just looked into how you work out how many combinations there are ( www.lottobuster.com/articles/060527.html)
The website says that you 4 in 31 chance of getting the first ball out (if you do then you only have 3 remaining and 30 to chose from) so 3/30 of the second, 2/29 of the third, 1/28 of the fourth. To work out the odds you multiply the first numbers (4 x 3 x 2 x 1) and then the second lot (31 x 30 x 29 x 2icon_cool.gif and then divide the remainder. This works out at 24/755160 or 1 in 31465. If these figures are correct (and again I state i'm no maths wiz) then there are 31465 different combinations. If there are only 1873 people playing then (assuming no one has chosen the same numbers) there will be 29592 unchosen combinations.
94% of the combinations aren't chosen!
It's a good job you like roll overs!

I got the same answer. A 1 in 16 chance of anybody winning, or in other words the jackpot will be won on average every 16 weeks, or 3 times a year.

They said that be raffling a hospatility package of some sort to one of the last 30 people to sign up to make up 1873 members. Someone has won that, so therefore they have hit 1873 members thus far

I agree that more should be made of reaching the target, but we do have 1873 members.
The 1873rd member is being traeted to the next matchday with AG & JE in the directors box, so well done to all involved

I'd imagine there will be but probably not until the working week. Give them chance!

It goes up £250 each week it isn't won. Sounds fair enough to me as we want it to make as much money as possible don't we?

| yeh the maths on the scheme aren't great - over three and a half grand going into the kitty, but given it should role over every week only £250 going back to the members as prizes......they should enhance it IMO as it's not really enough, it's almost insulting...
Ps I know it's a funraiser and i'm a member but to be sustainable it needs tweaking...
