So they should.
But what the hell was there another on the table for ?
Forget Sunday and the emotion behind it, strip it out.
And then ask yourself, should CC have been given an extension? For me it's an obvious no.

Not really, the club had no legal obligation to fulfil, it was just an "Understanding" over a verbal conversation so IMO the club have morally done a good deed in honouring that, don`t quite get the "so they should" comment. Imagine having a discussion with your boss about a promotion at work, then getting sacked because you can`t do your job properly, would you expect them to pay you the new wage for the foreseeable based on an understanding from a conversation you had? Chris and Michael are obviously very good friends, this sounds to me like they have come to an agreement re a compensation package more than anything.
I think everyone is agreed a new deal should never have been a discussion, we have been saying it for the last 2 years at least.

Wow, not even legally binding. For a club without much cash this is quite something

| It's sad when any coach is removed but he had to go although I agree any contract should be honoured.

I'd be utterly stunned if I was offered a promotion one week then dismissed for poor performance the next week. Which is essentially the case here. Makes you wonder if Carter knows what the hell he's doing

| I think it is right to pay him to the end of his current contract but any future unsigned agreement must be debatable. If we honour any future discussed contract he is still impacting the club’s future with the money he will be taking out.

If he’s signed a contract then I have no problem with the club paying it, to that is the right thing to do but if not it’s taking away a players contract and paying him on a chat on which a person then as changed their minds

| An agreement can be a legally binding contract a contract is an offer and an acceptance it doesn't need to be in writing however 99% of the time it would be written with terms

Perhaps it may be a type of severance package, usually made when both parties agree the best interest is for someone to leave their employment.
