Good piece on their video sharing channel, interviews with CC/JK/MC
Sounds like no Allgood though, looking for a Prop and Second row but no overseas spots available so will have to be European Federation.

Sorry but all I have is an oldish interview with CC with no mention of Allgood or anything else you mention - am I missing something?

Yep my bad, just looked back myself, tried not to use YT link-didn't know if it would get modded. That is why I mentioned the 'video sharing channel', but here is the direct link
Modded sorry

| Shows how quick things change from week to week. The CC interview is the one from last week with the ending cut off, where he said we'd have signings this past week. So it seems like Tupou is coming back if we haven't got any Quota places left.
Like mentioned we're after a Prop and a S/R but British or French based. Thought we might be after 2 Props with Simon leaving (don't know if the interview with MC was before he left though), or maybe someone who can play Prop/SR would be ideal. Personally not sure we need another S/R but they'll know better than me. At the moment we have Fifita, England, Hirst & Walker as out and out Props, with Arona as someone who can play there when needed. Even with an extra one, it doesn't leave much room for injuries, like what happened last year. Hopefully we get can something sorted for Harrison and someone else.
Great to hear from JK, as always full of enthusiasm and sounds well up for the challenge.

I don't think that was the issue.

| Good interview from MC.
It's a shame the club and it's aggressive stewards chose early days to isolate a lot of fans, Bigal sticks in my mind the most.
However they were early days and as I stated when MC took over it takes a while to learn how to run a RL club especially one like ours. I feel he's come a long way since those days and I'm sorry if that sounds condescending, it's not meant to be.
He's asking the fans to return and has stated he understands the reasons many stopped - I assume part of that contrition refers to his own errors.
He's right we really need more revenue to build this young exciting team CHOCK FULL OF LOCAL TALENT AT LAST. The time has come for the stay aways to return and that includes you Bigal if you're reading. No big fuss is needed no further blame apportioned and no apologies required - it's now all been said. I will be a happy boy if I see the big man on the terraces again, not because I fancy him but because it signals the end of a bad era for the club that really started with Glover - I know the Ted era had it's low points but for me compared to Glover he at least loved the club - just my opinion.
Further to this I'd like to send out a message to the moaners and doom mongers who IMHO do more than anyone to damage the support for the club within the Wakefield population. Why I don't know, maybe it's a defence mechanism that's built up through the decades of disappointment, who knows. Yes Belly you are one of the or at least you are on here, I know we spar on here and it's fun but now really is the time to put on a positive spin and just bl**dy forget about Cas for a bit .
You may think it won''t make any difference but it does, it's the ultimate form of secondary marketing. You're in a pub, you tell your mate how good we are looking for this season, he takes it on board as does the guy waiting behind you and off it goes like Chinese whispers. It won't affect most people who hear it but every now and then it might ignite some interest and if we do start to play well it certainly pay dividends. However you keep feeding people the line that we are cannon fodder at best and they will happily chose to believe you.
Nothing but nothing works like a winning team for getting fans in but priming them can't hurt - making them super negative before a ball is kicked can.
Let's as fans make our new years resolution to be Trinity (yes we've won that one) evangelists and sell the club as best we can and if we end up with egg on our faces so what - it's hardly a new experience

| Good post & I agree with just about all that Vasty. I hope with what happened last season and the sound way the Club has been run by MC, plus the settled squad and some exciting signings, plus the re-brand and a great Shirt. We can gradually bring more and more people back, even if it's just turning up for the odd game at first.
The only thing I disagree slightly with and it's been done to death over the years. Is the 'bad era' sort of came home to roost for us and MC even in this interview mentions it, is the ground. Selling the ground imo has been a nightmare I bet for both Glover and MC equally over the years, both financially paying a big rent sum, plus you can't really invest in something you don't own. Anyway lets hope this is the year that it finally comes off for us because it seems we've got a owner that wants to work towards turning Belle Vue into something that's more fitting of a SL Club.

The selling of the ground is a bit of a red herring and frankly I wouldn't have trusted Glover with it even if we had still owned it.
Truth is the ground was never really ours because the club had such a historical debt you couldn't really do anything with it. Nor did it have a huge value.
Ted actually did nothing wrong, he didn't sell the ground he used what value there was as collateral to take out a loan as many businesses do. He did this to fund various works required so that we could retain our SL licence - remember them. Only 18 month later they were scrapped and nobody gave a stuff about minimum requirements anymore - typical half cooked nonsense from SL/RFL.
He was further convinced that borrowing this money short term was a good idea because a certain deputy council leader had stood up in front of a packed meeting and told us all Thornes was a certainty. It's fine in hindsight to say you knew she was lying but at the time Ted had to make a decision and that was to keep us in SL until Thornes was ready.
It all turned to crap but it was far more good intentioned than people make out.
Glover was just playing at being a RL Club owner, and I said it from the start - I don't think it made any difference to him whether we owned BV or not - either way he'd have squandered it
As for MC you'd have to ask him as I don't know what his long term plans would be if we did own the ground. I would have though owning BV would have advantages over being a tenant but as I don't know the clubs current situation or future plans so I can't be sure.
TRB or Prince Buster knows the story better than me.
What is for sure is that ground or no ground MC has managed to create some kind of a business out of the whole mess which is a stunning achievement IMHO - he probably has to subsidise it a bit but he must feel its worth it.
We at least seem to be stable and we no longer have silly press releases promising things that will never happen and above all we have stopped being a selling club - though we won't win them all.

| So definitely no additional Aussie prop like Allgood coming in. Looking for an English or French prop and a second rower.
Anthony Tupou looks as though he is going to have one last swan song before retirement. Let's hope he re discovers the form and fitness that got him into the Australian team a few years ago..

Just for the record I wasn't doing any finger pointing and I never have. I've always said I don't envy the position of our owners and respected each of them individually, even if it's ended up going tits up at the end because ateotd it's the hardest gig in SL running Trinity, especially if said owners aren't multi millionaires. They've all took great financial risk taking on our club and although they've made mistakes, we're still here and what more we're looking forward. I know that Ted took a calculated gamble and it didn't pay off and the last thing he wanted was to lose control of the club and it end up in administration.
It's just that without a home, one that we own, no matter how much the land was worth, it provided the Club and fans security. Personally though, even though MC has done wonders balancing the books but also putting a good team together plus the rest, it's just the one thing that worries me. If for example we got demoted and had to leave Belle Vue, I'd genuinely fear for our survival & the future of the Club. Like I said before though, hopefully this year we finally get a bit of luck come our way on the Ground front.
